Poor but has it's good points

Warning: Spoilers
Right, Christmas is over and time to get back to normal, let's see what's on Amazon. Any Minute Now was advertised as a Horror with a rating of 3.5 stars, so I gave it a go. Now that's over I can get on to the second item in the 'Recently Added' list on Amazon.

The Story. In book form I can imagine it was a riveting read.

Screenplay. Not having read the story first I can only imagine that the screenplay did it justice because, as a story, it held together well visually.

Production. This was obviously done on a budget, as I found the sound and colour balance to be so poor as to detract from the story.

Direction/Acting. Was it a good director battling with mediocre acting or the other way around? The pauses in dialogue were overlong and felt artificial. The dialogue was often stilted, even with the two leads, though they did manage to settle into a rhythm toward the end. Most of the characters were believable, with the exception of the aunt and uncle whom, it seemed, had taken a course in overacting. They were Harry Potter's aunt and uncle on steroids.

Oh, yes and the ending. I won't spoil it but don't try and eat whilst watching it or you will choke. (And your sides will ache for hours afterwards)
