Warning: Spoilers
"Bells of Atlantis" is a 1852 9-minute short film from the very unprolific Ian Bell and it is certainly no coincidence that Anaïs Nin, who narrates in here, has worked with Kenneth Anger too. It reminds a lot of him in terms of approach to film and style in general. We hear strange music all the time, as if it was underwater, and there is a red veil making it difficult for us to recognize what is going on. Then again, it is an experimental film, so it is really much more about he atmosphere than about a plot really. But these are not my kind of films usually and this is the case here as well, even if I will admit that it is a fairly stylistic and atmospheric work. I personally did not really enjoy the watch though. Maybe you will more if you like Anger. nonetheless, a thumbs-down from me.
