Review of The Martian

The Martian (2015)
9/10
A less claustrophobic and way better Apollo 13.

I like these kinds off movies, space, technology but I also love how dedicated and real they keep it. This movie gave all of those. I've seen Apollo 13 and at first I thought it might be something similar but oh was I wrong. This one blew Apollo 13 away. There isn't anything actually complex to say about the plot. Its filled with made up solution and problems but they feel real. They feel problematic and even though some problems might be solved in very stupid/lucky ways. Most of the problems have a scientific and honestly, satisfying explanation. They don't take the time to go into the science too much but they are still very respectful too it. Everything seems very well thought about and every small detail is put in. The main feeling I had in this movie was, If this actually happened. This might be the solution. Familiar solutions to introduced problems that are not way too over the top and when they are explained in a way that makes you realize they just don't put big words and complexity just so you will loose the loop and don't care if its real anymore just because "yeah well, they said something about a hypersonic transistor, thats going to solve it probably." Its more like they literally put themselves in the situation and made a movie about how they would solve it. The pacing, the atmosphere, all of it. I liked it.
