A couple good moments, but overall ridiculous and unrealistic

Warning: Spoilers
"Die Töchter ihrer Exzellenz" is an 85-minute black-and-white film from over 80 years ago. Make sure you get subtitles if you cannot speak German. Honestly, apart from the lack of color this looked more like a 1950s, maybe 1960s film from Germany. There are many romantic comedies like these from these decades, the ones from the 1930s usually look a bit different. Anyway, this one has some generic factors that you will find often in these films. A mother with great authority. Daughters who seem to be on the lookout for the right guy. The male protagonist initially does not seem to be that person, but as the film goes on he becomes it. The two grow closer. There is lots of banter, some other women apparently as well, but of course he only wants the female main character and nothing is going on with the others etc. And finally a happy ending of course. This is all pretty predictable and uncreative in here. People back then may have been fine with that, even if it was so similar in all these films, but by today's standards it just is not enough anymore. A bit of a pity to see many really experienced actors and actresses in here and also a prolific filmmaker team and yet the outcome is so mediocre. Willy Fritsch and Hans Moser may be the most known names from the cast. All in all, not a really funny watch. Not recommended.
