This episode focuses almost exclusively on Louisa and Doc Martin. When it begins, the pair are going on a date to a concert. It turns out one of the musicians is an old friend of Louisa's and she'll only be in town a short time. Following the concert, Louisa gets romantic with Martin--only to have him totally spoil the moment due to his horrible inability to deal with normal social cues due to his Asperger's Syndrome. Louisa realizes that a relationship with someone like this is hopeless and breaks up with him.
Martin behaves VERY uncharacteristically after this. Instead of just moping, he decides to make some changes--and he's even pleasant to others! However, Louisa isn't impressed--mostly because she doesn't seem to know what she wants or expects from him. She also makes it difficult for him to know what to do as a result. Do these two have any hope at all as a couple? And, what's to become of Louisa's friend-- as she has a horrible accident and is bed-ridden.
