**** (out of 4)

Excellent 30-minute documentary on the various cuts of BLADE RUNNER and how a team of people came together to try and create "The Final Cut" so that the fans will know Ridley Scott's full vision is now available. Producer and restoration experts Charles de Lauzirka and Kurt Galvao are on hand here to discuss the four previous versions of the film that were available. We're given a good explanation of what the differences were and we're also told what problems were still out there and why a fifth version needed to be made.

From here we basically get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the fifth version of the film as we get to sit in on meetings with Scott and other people as they try to create the best version possible. This here included looking for sound that had gone missing and even bringing in Joanne Cassidy to try and recreate one of the biggest flaws in the original version. They even managed to bring in Harrison Ford's son to try and correct another error in the original movie.

I'm not the biggest fan of BLADE RUNNER but I found this documentary to be not only highly entertaining but it was also just great getting to see how these behind-the-scenes featurettes were made and how many years such a project can get stretched. Charles de Lauzirka did a wonderful job at taking viewers behind-the-scenes and really giving you a great idea of what it was like taking on a job like this and wanting to get the best product out there.
