This was the most painful Psych episode to watch ever and possibly the worst TV show I have ever watched. I watched the episode to conclusion as my wife and I had previously watched all other episodes together as one of the few shows we enjoyed together. The musical setup did not work: both from a plot and quality perspective. We were both literally groaning when new musical numbers started.
The biggest issues with this episode are: 1) Music quality was not very good (or horrible); 2) The use of music is random and inconsistent with the plot progression. Does Lassie hate the singing as he professes in the story or like it as he is later the instigator? 3) Chief Vic was suspended in the previous episode but is miraculously back on the job this episode with no explanation; 4) Juliet does not know Shawn is not psychic in this episode even though the entire Season 7 to that point was about her discovery and later acceptance of that fact; 5) This episode is by far the poorest use of the Yang character in the entire show; it kind of ruins the previous development of the character; and 6) The framing of the episode around Shawn narrating a medieval story is completely unnecessary and poorly done.
