Diane volunteers for a charity auction on TV and Sam donates his old Jersey. As nobody wants to be on it Diane does a bet. Sam finds out and wants it to go back. Then he loses his nerves and buys the Jersey. Then he gives it back. He catches people from the bar collecting money to place a bet. And then somebody else makes a bet so he invites them over to the bar to sign it, but turns out the guy isn't even a baseball fan and was just tired to see it on TV.
Yes, one sure feels bad for Sam in this one. Although, should one? So many people cared for him to place the bet just to make him feel better (Diane, Carla, Woody etc), this is even better than fans from an ended career.
