"The Goober Pyle Show" Not!
29 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Once again nice to see another beloved character Goober(George Lindsey) be the main focus of the show. After having seen all 8 seasons of this beloved show, I came to the conclusion that this Goober character was dangerous! And what I mean by that is, he was such a goof- ball and idiot, that he sometimes didn't know that he was truly causing harm and stuff by either doing stupid things or being a blabbermouth. He reminds me a lot of another beloved character in the "Bowery Boys" series, the Huntz Hall character of "Glimpy", who also got into a lot of trouble for being ignorant. And ignorance can be very dangerous sometimes. Plus he was to some extent a pest. I don't know how Andy put up with him sometimes! ha-ha

There was some inconsistencies in this episode as well like:Goober is continuously taking aspirin for his migraine headaches. Since this show was set in the South in the 1960s, he should have been taking headache powder instead and Goober tells Wally that he has been working for him for 11 1/2 years, but he made his first appearance in the show in 1964, 3 1/2 years before when Gomer was Wally's employee. But still fun nonetheless.

Another great actor, Bo Hopkins makes a nice guest appearance here playing an employee Goober hires for the gas station. Too bad Bo was not made a recurring character. He would have been a natural fit in basically playing himself!
