How I Met Your Mother: The Burning Beekeeper (2012)
Season 7, Episode 15
1/10
A really disappointing episode that doesn't do much for viewers.

Warning: Spoilers
This season has been my least favorite so far. It feels as though the writers are running out of steam, or maybe they've backed themselves into a corner because of all the hints and facts they've dropped so far. HIMYM in the past has been really brilliant about presenting plot twists really well. Even episodes that don't go the way I would like (break-ups with characters I liked, fights between friends, etc) are redeeming in that they told the story beautifully. But this episode was the worst in a season of disappointments. I was surprised when the credits started rolling because nothing had happened. Absolutely no development took place -- everything we saw at the party has happened before. The viewers could literally have skipped this episode and it wouldn't have mattered the next week. We learned nothing, except that we shouldn't get our hopes up anymore. We watch this show because we love it, and we've grown with the characters, and we've invested our interest over the last six years. Please do your audience a favor and give us something substantial in the future, something that will be worth our time. I'm hoping the writers have something brilliant planned for us and this episode will become incredible in hindsight, but so far it just doesn't do anything for me.
