Pretty Little Liars (2010–2017)
10/10
Although it has numerous flaws, the show is good

Pretty Little Liars centers around a group of 5 high school girls led by the bitchy Queen Bee, Alison DiLaurentis. After spending a night with her friends in a barn, Alison goes missing and her body is found buried beneath her house. After her death, the remaining 4 girls - Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna - begin receiving mysterious text messages from an unknown source, "A," who knows the girls' deepest and darkest secrets.

Right off the bat, the show is addicting.... you will be left wanting more after each episode ends (I watched the entire 2 seasons in less than 3 weeks!) However, the show has numerous plot holes which will hopefully be explained, and there are so many subplots with the four girls that you will feel overwhelmed or annoyed at how slow the show moves. I often find myself distracted and doing other things while watching because some of the story lines seem pointless.

The one problem I've had with the show is, I don't understand how teenage girls can be trying to solve a murder, are getting harassed, threatened, etc and they never tell anyone about it. I understand it's a TV show and that if none of these things happened, it wouldn't be a show. For the most part, it's unrealistic. Plus, there is absolutely no logic being used by characters. I know it's not their fault (come on, writers...)

There is a lot of "teenage" drama, but the show will be enjoyable for an older audience, although I can't see myself watching or relating to the show if I were older. I'm 22 now and find some of the drama and problems petty, and most of the relationships revolve around breaking up and making up every other episode which can get frustrating.

The most gripping part of the show is when the girls have an encounter with "A." The middle of season one the show was at its peak in terms of action, and it subsides throughout the rest of the season and into season two. But! We'll finally see who "A" is at the end of season 2!!! (This is another problem I have with the show, its taken way too long to reveal who "A" is to the point where the reveal will probably be anti-climatic for me).

Overall the show is good, not great. The mystery of who "A" is and who killed Alison is what has kept me watching for the past two seasons, although I had to put up with some boring subplots.

Worth watching though, great if you are looking for another show to get into if another one of your favorites has ended: 8/10
