Up There (2011)
surprising - a charming British comedy
23 November 2011
I was visiting a friend in Mannheim and we randomly got tickets for this film. I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised - a classic British comedy but with a twist.

The characters were really well developed and I especially warmed to the lead actress Kate O'Flynn. I found her character very emotionally engaging - a perfect blend of warmth, comedy, and darkness about her.

The other characters were very good also. Burn Gorman was perfectly cast and I will definitely look out for him in Batman when it arrives. Brilliant dead-pan performances from the supporting cast too - absolutely hilarious.

It's a great idea for a film and I look forward to seeing what else this first time writer/director has to offer.

All in all, I was very pleased we chanced upon this film.
