Auction Kings (2010– )

Warning: Spoilers
This show is on Discovery (currently on Tuesdays) and follows the life of an auction house called Gallery 63 which is based in Atlanta.

The four people we see who work there are the owner Paul Brown, the manager Cindy, the picker Jon and Mr Fixit Delfino. Obviously far more people work there but these are the 4 we see as well as the auctioneer on sale day.

Though similar to Pawn Stars in many ways this show concentrates on gearing up to the monthly sale which is the climax of the show each week. As I have only recently relocated to the US I enjoy shows like this as they give me a chance to learn more about American icons and history that I do not know about. (I grew up in the UK) The characters interact well with each other and Delfino is outstanding as being able to fix anything. Cindy just comes across as a nice person. Jon is new and still learning the ropes and Paul runs the whole show.

Though educational there are some good comic moments and a good banter. Where this is different to Pawn Stars is that it focuses more on the items coming in and less on the people working there.

Overall, a great show.
