Dual Survival: Eating Dust (2011)
Season 2, Episode 9

When Ya Gotta Goi, You Gotta Go
29 June 2011
I know about the famous Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah where many speed records have been set, but this episode takes place in another salt flats - in Baja, Mexico.

One of the more memorable scenes in this episode occurs early when Cody - who is the expert of the two in this terrain - pees on a scarf and then wears it over his head (for moisture relief in the hot, arid desert.). His partner Dave, is grossed out at this and won't go that route. He's a jungle survivalist; not a desert dude.

Anyway, among the fascinating things in this particular show are "the rule of thirds," drifting while walking, arroyos, sand storms, desert mountain terrain, how coyotes can tell you where the water is, pine nuts, making a trap to catch rabbits.....and....using urine to make a fire! All in all, another fun and educational episode.
