((This post DOES contain Spoilers, however, there is no deep plot to this musical, and any spoilers end up being mild clarifications. Still, you have been warned))

Freaknik: The Musical is a hip-hop infused animation that deals purely with fun, comedy, and great music from the hip-hop genre. Adultswim indeed strikes gold again with this astonishing release.

First, the most obvious boon to this animation is the amazing line-up of Rap superstars.

T-Pain, whom does the voice over for the main character of the film "Freaknik". The character Freaknik is a extra-terrestrial "like" being whom embodies the spirit of fun, Hip-Hop, and things of the like.

(SPOILER: Freaknik is not a "Spirit" as he's been labeled in most reviews. He is an ALIEN. This becomes obvious when a "mothership" full of odd creatures descends from space and takes Freaknik back home to a different Galaxy.)

Other superstars include; Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Cee-Lo, Dj Pooh, and much more. Even non rap stars such as Charlie Murphy, Andy Samberg, and Bill Hader do work on this musical as well.

The "plot" of this musical is simple. Freaknik returns after more than 10 years of absence, turns Atlanta into one giant spring break party, throws a contest for "Trillest" rap group ever. The reward being unlimited Cash, Clothes, and Ho's.

Small time rap group, "Sweet Tea Mob", begin the voyage to Atlanta in order to rise out of poverty and into fame. Of course, their journey isn't easy.

Evil racist council "The Boule" tries to thwart Freaknik. Ultimately leading into Al Sharpton (Charlie Murphy) being transformed into some comedic robot/cyborg.

The plot, while very simple, flows smoothly and transitions everything nicely. The animation is lively, and unique. However, I must say that the soundtrack is what raises this feature far above average. If you watch this film, and you own a home theater system, crank it up.

In my personal opinion, the only downside of this feature is the seemingly short running time of 60 minutes. In my opinion, they could have done so much more. This is the only reason I'm not giving it a 10.

Ultimately, this is a MUST SEE for anyone even slightly interested in the genre. Amazing. 9 out of 10.
