Freaknik: The Musical (2010 TV Movie)
9/10
Surprisingly Entertaining

Warning: Spoilers
So what I didn't know, was that a butt load of celebrities are in the show. I am an avid fan of Charlie Murphy so that was a great surprise. I love Lil Wayne from the depths of my heart, not to mention DJ Pooh (Red from Friday) and a slew of other rappers and actors.

It was very entertaining. If you didn't like it, it's because you didn't get it. If you like rap at all, and are into that stuff then you will enjoy it. It's witty and daring. It challenges some stereotypes and actually has a message: "Dont give up" even with all the obstacles and temptation that you may come up against, and become pry too! Because it doesn't just show up, we often succumb to it. BUT if you don't understand rap, then you wont see that message. The way they talk and phrase these things, unless you are in the same groove wit these type of musical artists you would not understand it. The spoofs are hilarious! The "Bule" (don't think i spelled that right) are a bunch of black iconic figures and if you don't recognize their image and mock voice then its just not as funny.

Loved the animation. it was very visually pleasing to me. I woke up at 446 this morning and adult swim was on my TV so i caught the last 45 minutes. I am in the process of seeing if i can get it on my ipod soon or in the future. I would watch it over and over again.

If you're into African American and rap culture you will find it enjoyable.
