The Profile (2010)

Innovative Short

Excellent use of B&W to bring about a tone for the film. The lighting was excellent considering this short had a small budget. The movie's development of the story line moved the viewer through a range of emotions and feelings for Tran and his situation.

The diverse set of movie locations must have complicated the film-making process, but the filmmaker stitched movement through the story line to pace and develop the plot without any excessive baggage. This means that the editing process must have taken a long time due to many difficult edit decisions that young filmmakers don't typically make to "cut" favorite pieces from the finished film even if they don't help the story line. Attention to detail must have been the main course for this work as this film is tight.

Definitely worth your time to view this short; a great independent work.
