In Afghanistan a group of American soldiers are taken hostage after a failed fire fight. While they await execution their captures engage something outside and are all killed. The American's free themselves and soon find themselves in conflict with huge sand worms with a taste for human Flesh.
Tremors retread might have worked had the monsters ever appeared in any of the shots with the actors, but they never do. Every monster shot is a cutaway. Certainly the effects are really good but they are simply never put into the footage with the actors. There is no menace. There simply is actors reacting to nothing.
Its a waste.
