It wasn't funny in the flick...
3 November 2009
Why would you, in an entire movie of stupid, one-note, characters, want to extend the very worst one of them? I realize this is only three minutes, but still. This is on the DVD of Blades of Glory, and it would have to be the one furthest from actually being hilarious. It's got clips from the picture, and is apart from that an "interview" with Swardson, playing Hector. The schtick was ridiculous and over the top(as a lot of other things) in the film, and here it just proves how little material that there is in the role, not to mention how little they could come up with. A handful of punchlines are repeated in as many different versions as they could come up with, and when there's nothing to the part other than "he's creepy, a psycho, and doesn't respect personal space", well, there's not a lot of ways to prolong their screen-time other than the one joke that he represents. The actor does a fairly good job, maybe he'd do well with something more fleshed out. I don't know, I haven't really seen him in anything else. There is crude stuff in this. I recommend this solely to the biggest fans of the flick. 5/10
