I always like to watch programmes looking back on moments from TV, music and film, e.g. 100 Greatest shows, and this offering from the BBC was a very interesting look at a memorable period of time. Hosted by model Melinda Messenger, this show looks back at the year 1997, with topics including: the film The Full Monty, the wearing of thongs, "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba, the "I Just Wanna Make Love To You" Diet Coke adverts, the rise of Melinda Messenger, the kids' TV programme Teletubbies, the newspaper column turned book Bridget Jones's Diary, the use of Viagra, "Smack My Bitch Up" by The Prodigy, and the TV programme Driving School. Celebrity contributions include: Ronnie Baxter, Max Beesley, Marcus Brigstocke, Chumbawumba's Dunstan Bruce, Natalie Casey, Jo Caulfield, Chris Cowey, Jackie Clune, Kevin Day, Andrew Davenport, Mark Eccleston, Helen Fielding, Toby Foster, Michelle Gayle, Clare Gohram, Germaine Greer, The Full Monty's Steve Huison, Jodie Kidd, Melinda Messenger, Trevor Nelson, Chumbawumba's Alice Nutter, Jenny Powell, Rowland Rivron, Jenny Ross, The Full Monty's William Snape, Lisa Snowdon, The Full Monty's Hugo Speer, Mark Steel, Peter Stringfellow, Dave Thompson, Johnny Vegas, Chumbawumba's Boff Whalley, Terry Wogan, Anne Wood, Gina Yashere and many more. Very good!
