How He Missed His Train (1900)

aka Le Reveil d'un monsiur presse

Hilarious film has George Melies getting out of bed in his pajamas and he must rush to catch a train. As he's getting dressed all of his clothes start to take the form of something else, which causes a problem. We've seen plenty of films from the director that deal with clothes taking different shapes but the jokes here are wonderfully done. He will go to but on his jacket but it'll turn into his hat. He'll go to put his hat on but it'll turn into his boot. He'll go to put his pants on but it'll turn into his jacket. Melies is so relaxed and comfortable on the screen that he pulls these jokes off very well. Truly a delightful film.
