Review of The Psychic

The Psychic (1968)
The really poor man's version of Dead Zone, but prior to it - Hmmm?!
2 September 2007
Wondering if Stephen King happened to see this back in the 60s? It's a possibility since he's a fan of such stuff.

Well, Dan the leading man takes a fall off the ladder and hits his head pretty hard with both the hammer and the concrete driveway, requiring hospitalization. While there is no coma, the scene where he is still recuperating and shakes the hand of his visiting boss, then becomes alarmed that he knows that the boss will die at a certain time very soon is Dead Zone all over again.

Other than looking for interesting similarities between the two, the soft-core porn sequences are pretty much the most interesting things happening.

Just think of it this way: Adolescents get a super-8 camera or video camcorder and decide to remake Dead Zone but with titillation added and no money for scenes, effects, wardrobe, etc.

Except that this was released in 1968, so who's copying whom?
