Brilliant Movie

Being a book fanatic, I love it when a movie captures as much of a book as is possible. I realize that not everything is possible to capture and anyone attending this movie would do well to keep that in mind. Order of the Phoenix is a fair sized volume and I see how they had to combine certain scenes while completely doing away with others for time constraints.

That said, this movie was fantastic. The magical effects were amazing. The best scene, judging by the crowd's reaction, was Dumbledore telling the Ministry he has no intention of going to Azcaban, flinging his arms skyward and he and Fawkes bursting into a flaming exit. The audience went wild clapping and hooting. The duel between Dumbledore and He-who-has-no-nose in the Ministry was everything I hoped.

The essence of this book was captured brilliantly by the actors old and new. The choices for casting Umbridge, Luna and Bellatrix were spot on. While I have issues with how Gambion plays Dumbledore in the other HP movies, he does very well here. Alan Rickman's Snape is,as usual, a joy to watch. The trio, Rupert, Daniel and Emma are really fine actors. They truly carried this film and as they and the story mature, so does their acting. The dark drama requires quite a range and they deliver in spades.

All in all, it's the best movie to date and I left the theater eager for the next one.
