Since when do the shows live up to the books?
28 June 2007
Warning: Spoilers
You need to take it out of context. This is t.v. not a novel. Sometimes you have to sacrifice some elements of the books to fit it into a one hour slot. Because much to my dismay you can't have a two hour t.v. show every week.

I like the show... a lot. I was never a fan of Buffy or Charmed, because they were too campy. And I wasn't about to give this show a chance. But I was up one night and the episode where Harry wakes up in a strange bed and someone is serving him breakfast all the while plotting to kill him. It intrigued me. So I stayed up and finished the episode. I loved it, so I tuned in the next week hoping it was as good. It was. It's refreshing to see how seriously it takes itself. The actors are great, Bob is by far the best.

Now I admit, I have never read the books but, really did you expect to watch the book in live action? If you were, then stay in that happy place. I mean not every book put to film can be a Nero Wolfe.

All I got to say is give it a try. Don't let another good show go.

News flash! I've been reading some other comments for the show and some seem to think it's been canceled. I would like to draw these peoples attention to the fact that they have released the FIRST season on DVD. Notice that they spent money for it to say FIRST season instead of COMPLETE SERIES. Which I think someone in the ad department would have noticed. I hope.
