Warning: Spoilers
I always like movies with actors/actresses who are not famous and who have to prove themselves to be worthy in a bollywood movie. I really liked Akshay Kapoor as an actor. He is like all the other male Kapoor's; a born natural actor. Alag is a sort of super hero movie. It is about a bald boy who cannot stand the light and has to stay inside the house his whole life. He is very smart and has some super powers. Then his father dies and he has to face the world on his own.

The story is not new, but for bollywood a nice try to make a super hero movie. When you put a good new actor like Akshay in a movie with bad actors like Diya Mirza or the man who plays her father. For instance, her father is the head of the school where Akshay (Tejas, what a stupid name!) goes. Tejas does some stupid things because of his powers. The head of the school is in important man, no one can meet him. But Tejas can! He tries to tell Tejas not to do such things and not always to tell the truth, but first to think what to say. Tejas doesn't like this, he wants to tell the truth always. Tejas is very angry. Then Diya Mirza tries to explain her father is hurt and she takes Tejas to the hospital to let him see that her mother is in coma. When a man is important, not every one can just come into the room and listen what he is saying, because at the point Tejas is seeing Diya's father in hurt, her father cries near the bed of his wife talking about Tejas! How unrealistic, like the whole world has been turning around Tejas already.

At that point you already know Tejas is going to make his wife better, so that was predictable. As sudden Tejas is dreaming about moments he has hair. Then you see a man dancing. I don't know if this was Akshay also, but if he was it really is a different look! Akshay was not suited for this role. This because Akshay is very muscular. When Akshay takes of his shirt, I don't see a boy who has been at home behind the books for 18 years, but I see a man who has been in the gym every day! Then you have a really good actor in the movie like Sharat Saxena. Then he has to be a police man AGAIN! It is so boring, this man can do so much more, he has been a police man for ever. His role is very small, unfortunately.

The movie was worth seeing, special effects were great. Acting of the small actors and actresses was boring and not realistic. Story was predictable. It was a little bit stolen from The green mile. If Diya Mirza had been alive at the end of the movie, there could have been an Alag sequel with their son to be a masked super hero like Krrish HA HA!

The special appearances at the end was a surprise, but was it necessary? No it wasn't. It was an expensive way to put a lot of Bollywood character into the movie in just one song. That was not a cherry on the ice-cream. On the contrary, Alag was about to be a movie on itself like Krrish. A good movie without the stupid actors like Sharukh and Preity Zinta. It was about to become a rocket from an airplane. But with the stupid famous actors and actresses in the last song is was a rocket who had to crash back on earth. A pity.
