A little gem of a film, from one of France's best young directors
11 June 2006
"Short Films" are not widely known in the United States, they are a cinematic art form more seen in Europe. This is a pity, as we Americans are missing out on a wonderful experience. "Sentence Finale" is one of these wonderful experiences! Franck Allera is a young director who is becoming well known in France for his work in this genre, well on his way to becoming the next Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Christopher Gans, Mathieu Kassovitz. In "Sentence Finale" he has assembled together a talented cast, and smoothly blends together a Medieval and Contemporary time line telling a thought-provoking tale of morals that is still argued today with as much passion as in Medieval times. A little gem of a film, by a very talented young man who is certainly on his way to becoming one of France's great directors.
