So am I. I mean French. And if the Sheitan's movie does one thing, it is only confirming the lack of substance in French film-making of nowadays. It is poor on every level (script, acting and directing...) It just surfs on the cool wave of "the trashier the better." It sadly mixes the worst bit of old forgotten cinematographic genres (gore and B movies...) and pretends to create something new. It is neither frightening nor funny, although we could assert that the result is tragic. It seems to me that this bunch of "sons of..." (most of the cast and crew are kids of confirmed artists) had some money to play with and nothing else. Sheitan is different from what we see in general. But different doesn't, alas, necessarily means newer or better... And please, forget about that comment about how you should know the typical french urban and country people to understand that movie. Considering the way they're described, it is offensive to both of them.
