Magnificent Film
25 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I can only agree with those others who see Smith's acting as consummate.

But for a film to provide the experience that this one did, everything has to work. A single false note would have dispelled the illusion, the transcendent illusion of experiencing a life.

Hoskin's prodigal brother, with his doorman job depicted as being in the Hotel Business, was in perfect pitch. The "artistic" son, was as real as he was of a type. Even the maid, in her libidinous sullenness rang absolutely true.

The ending (may be a spoiler for those who haven't seen it) was perplexing. After a scene of apparent acceptance of each others reality, Judith seemed to discard the address of her "suiter."

I choose to believe it is because she memorized it, and will soon ring him up, so they can share a cinema together.
