
BBC Seizes TV Crown at BAFTA Awards

London — U.K. pubcaster the BBC ruled over the BAFTA TV awards in London Sunday, winning in 15 of the 23 major categories.
“The Hollow Crown,” a series of Shakespeare adaptations produced by Sam Mendes and Pippa Harris’ shingle Neal Street Prods. with NBCU Intl. and Wnet for the BBC, took two awards.
Olivia Colman reinforced her status as one of Blighty’s top thesps with supporting actress BAFTAs for Jimmy McGovern’s drama ”Accused” and comedy ”Twenty Twelve,” both BBC shows.
HBO took two kudos: “Game of Thrones” nabbed the audience award and “Girls,” which airs on satcaster BSkyB in the U.K., won the international award.
