Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, and John Eastman were among 18 co-defendants indicted by an Arizona grand jury Wednesday on charges stemming from their attempts to overturn the state’s 2020 election results by nominating fake electors.
The indictment capped off a year-long investigation spearheaded by Arizona Attorney General Kristin Mayes (D). Wednesday’s filing lists 11 named defendants and seven redacted defendants who are charged with six counts of forgery, one count of conspiracy, one count of fraudulent schemes and artifices, and one count of fraudulent schemes and practices.

Three lawyers who assisted Trump lawyer Sidney Powell‘s campaign in mounting legal challenges to the 2020 election results have been charged by bar investigators in Washington, D.C. They have been accused of violating disciplinary policies and are facing disciplinary charges.
The attorneys, Juli Haller, Lawrence Joseph and Brandon Johnson, are accused of knowingly making false representations to courts about a series of lawsuits filed in the weeks following the 2020 election. These filings became public in January.
Joseph was involved in a lawsuit filed by former Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) against former Vice President Mike Pence. The lawsuit aimed to pressure Pence to use his power to alter the election outcome according to Donald Trump‘s wishes.
Lower courts rejected the lawsuit, and the Supreme Court ended the case in January 2021.

The prosecutors participating in the 2020 Fulton County, Georgia, election fraud case indicated that they are searching for ways to sentence Donald Trump and the other co-defendants in the case to prison.
One email, in a batch newly released under Georgia’s public records law, contains an exchange between the former president’s defense lawyers and prosecutors showing that District Attorney of Fulton County Fani Willis suggested that the attorneys had a lengthy road ahead of them.
Willis said, “Long after these folks are in jail, we will still be practicing law.”
Another exchange between the defense lawyers and Willis showed Trump attorney Steve Sadow sharing that he was upset about an unfinished Rudy Giuliani transcript.
The attorney had a problem with the language utilized by the defense and stated that Trump’s team would be given the entire transcript in the next production of discovery.

In October, former Trump lawyers Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro both agreed to write apology letters after their guilty pleas in the Fulton County, Georgia, election fraud case, which indicted 19 people for trying to overturn the state’s 2020 presidential election results.
Their letters, which were acquired by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution via an open records request, were each one sentence long, seeming to mock prosecutors.
“I apologize for my actions in connection with the events in Coffee County,” Powell said in her letter written on October 19.
“I apologize to the citizens of the State of Georgia and of Fulton County for my involvement in Count 15 of the indictment,” Chesebro declared in his apology letter written on October 20.
The letters do not address the legitimacy of President Joe Biden winning Georgia’s 2020 election or condemn the unfounded conspiracy theories they promoted to claim that Trump had been fraudulently cheated out of victory.

Donald Trump has spent the last three years alleging that the 2020 election was rigged against him. The former president and his allies have done everything in their power to prove Joe Biden’s win was fraudulent, to no avail, because it wasn’t. Team Trump has simultaneously been laying the groundwork to make sure the 2024 election goes their way and, if it doesn’t, that their effort to bend the results in their favor will be more successful next year than it was after Trump’s reelection effort went down in flames.

Georgia prosecutors have added former Vice President Mike Pence to the list of witnesses who could be called to testify in Donald Trump’s upcoming election interference Rico trial, according to a report from CNN.
More than 150 individuals, including Pence, have reportedly been included in the Fulton County witness list, which remains under seal.
While Pence was compelled by Special Counsel Jack Smith to testify before a grand jury in the Justice Department’s federal election interference case against Trump, the former vice president has so far skirted significant involvement in the Fulton County case.

Jenna Ellis, a lawyer for former President Donald Trump, called him a “malignant narcissist” who cannot admit mistakes, announcing that she will not vote for him in the future.
“I simply can’t support him for elected office again. Why I have chosen to distance is because of that frankly malignant narcissistic tendency to simply say that he’s never done anything wrong,” she said while speaking on her show on American Family Radio.
Last month, Ellis pleaded guilty to making false statements over attempts to reverse the results of the 2020 election, which Trump had lost to President Joe Biden.
Ellis, 38, was among 18 of Trump’s associates charged with him in Georgia over attempts to subvert the election results in the state.
She was charged with flouting state anti-racketeering laws and solicitation of violation of an oath by a public officer.
Ellis has also represented the Thomas More Society, a conservative Catholic group.

Throughout the criminal investigations of Donald Trump, the former president has expected his co-defendants, alleged co-conspirators, and potential witnesses for the prosecution to stay fiercely loyal to him. This has included — according to people who’ve discussed the matter with him — his belief that some of his former lieutenants should risk jail time rather than turn on him.
As he’s faced an array of criminal charges, Trump’s demands for aides and lawyers to martyr themselves for him hasn’t saved him. If anything, it’s done the opposite,...

Jenna Ellis became the 4th co-defendant of four-time indicted former president Donald Trump to flip on him on Tuesday and, for Seth Meyers, it was the clearest indication that they all really learned from Trump’s book. They’re just making different kinds of deals.
Ellis pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of aiding and abetting false statements in the Georgia election interference case against Trump. Vowing to cooperate with Fulton County officials, Ellis avoided jail time for the felony, and instead was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution money.
“So I guess in the end, [Trump] did teach them all the art of the deal,” Meyers mocked on Tuesday night.
The NBC host was, of course, referring to the title of Trump’s book, first published in 1987.
Indeed, Ellis became the 4th co-defendant to turn on Trump, and the third of this week alone.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump’s campaign attorney, Jenna Ellis, pleaded guilty to making false statements to Georgia lawmakers about election fraud in 2020.
Ellis admitted to helping spread misinformation by claiming that nearly 100,000 mail-in ballots were fraudulently cast, 2,500 felons illegally voted, 60,000 underage people illegally voted and more than 10,000 dead people in Georgia voted in the 2020 presidential election.
“I relied on others, including lawyers with many more years of experience than I do to provide me with true and reliable information,” Ellis told Judge Scott McAfee on Tuesday. “What I did not do, but should have done Your Honor, was to make sure that the facts the other lawyers alleged to be true were, in fact, true. In the frenetic pace of attempting to raise challenges to the election in several states, including Georgia, I failed to do my due diligence.”

Attorney Jenna Ellis, once a steadfast media defender of Donald Trump and his false claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him, pleaded guilty today in the Georgia election case.
Ellis, who was a former legal adviser to Trump, pleaded guilty to a single felony charge of aiding and abetting false statements and writing.
She was sentenced to five years probation, $5,000 restitution and 100 hours of community service. She also will cooperate with prosecutors as they pursue cases against other defendants.
In court, with her voice quavering, Ellis said that she failed to do her “due diligence” in investigating the claims that the election was rigged.
“I believe in and I value election integrity,” Ellis said. “If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump in these post-election challenges. I look back on this whole experience with deep remorse.”

While Call of Duty and its free-to-play battle royale spin-off Warzone have remained some of the most popular games on Twitch and other streaming platforms, a recent series of protests involving streamers Nickmercs, TimTheTatman, and others have raised questions about the future of Call of Duty streaming and some of that scene’s biggest names.
While this situation is ongoing, here is what you need to know about the recent calls to boycott Call of Duty over controversial streamer statements related to the LGBTQ community.
Why Streamers Are Boycotting Warzone and Call of Duty
On May 31, the Call of Duty team added special character bundles to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 which were based on two popular streamers: Nickmercs and TimTheTatman. While Call of Duty has historically featured character skins and other cosmetics based on real-life figures (such as NBA star Kevin Durant), the series typically does not feature content based on streamers.

This is how petty and aggressively stupid the 2024 GOP presidential primary has become: several close aides and allies to Donald Trump want to challenge Ron DeSantis to a literal dick-measuring contest.
It wouldn’t be the first juvenile move by Team Trump in this young primary season. Already, Trump has suggested that DeSantis, his chief rival, might be secretly gay. He’s gone after DeSantis over pronunciation of his own last name. He has claimed to have salacious dirt on Florida’s governor, that he might release during the primary.

Many of the conservatives fueling these claims decided to see if they couldn’t get elected to positions of power so they can help rig future elections. The state’s Republican voters indulged them on Tuesday, handing the party’s nomination for Senate to Blake Masters and for secretary of state to Mark Finchem. However, as of early Wednesday morning, the race for the gubernatorial nomination remained too close to call,...

Yet another damning report about Ginni Thomas’ efforts to overturn the 2020 election results has emerged.
It turns out that Thomas, who just so happens to be married to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, didn’t just contact two Arizona Republican legislators about rejecting electors for Joe Biden in the state he won, as The Washington Post reported last month. The actual number, the Post reported on Friday, was 29.

Peter Navarro, the former adviser to former President Donald Trump who helped devise a failed scheme to override the results of the 2020 presidential election, disclosed on Monday that he has been served with a subpoena by a federal grand jury, according to The New York Times.
Navarro says the subpoena requests he provide records relating to the Jan. 6 insurrection, including “any communications” he had with Trump.
According to the Times, Navarro intends on suing the House Jan. 6 committee, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), and Matthew Graves, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.

Supreme Court spouse Ginni Thomas not only pushed the Trump White House and Republican congressmen to try to overturn the results of the 2020 election, she also reached out to Arizona state lawmakers asking the same, The Washington Post reported Friday. This latest revelation raises still more questions and concerns about the extent to which Thomas’ role as a right-wing activist affects the work of her husband, Justice Clarence Thomas.
Ginni Thomas sent emails to Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers and State Rep. Shawnna Bolick, both of whom are Republicans.

Donald Trump Jr. is set to meet voluntarily with the Jan. 6 committee in the next few days, multiple outlets reported on Thursday.
The committee has spoken recently with several members of the Trump family — though not former President Trump himself. Kimberly Guilfoyle, Trump Jr.’s fiance and a former Trump campaign adviser, had a second meeting with the committee this week. (She was issued a subpoena after originally planning to cooperate.) Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were interviewed earlier this month.
The committee will likely be interested in Trump Jr.

The House Jan. 6 committee possesses nearly 100 text messages from two Republican lawmakers urging then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to overturn the 2020 presidential election, CNN reported on Friday.
Utah Sen. Mike Lee and Texas Congressman Chip Roy supported former President Trump’s decision to not concede the election once it was called on Nov. 7, with Lee offering Meadows “unequivocal support for you to exhaust every legal and constitutional remedy at your disposal to restore Americans faith in our elections.”

The House Jan. 6 committee is in possession of a text that Donald Trump Jr. sent to Mark Meadows two days after the 2020 election in which he floated ways that his father could remain in office, CNN reported on Friday.
In the message, which was sent before a winner was even declared, Trump Jr. suggested a number of ways to achieve this. “It’s very simple,” he wrote to the White House chief of staff. “We have multiple paths We control them all.”

The technology was complicated, but the plan was simple: Scan mail-in and absentee ballots in populous Maricopa County, remove the “invalid votes,” and recertify the state’s 2020 election count, surely declaring then-President Donald Trump the rightful winner.
This scheme to subvert the election outcome in Arizona is laid out in newly released emails obtained by Rolling Stone. Sent in early December 2020, the emails cover a critical moment when the post-election push by Trump and Republican allies to find fraud and overturn the presidential election was in full swing.

Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis wrote a memo dated the day before the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol arguing that then-Vice President Mike Pence should refuse to count presidential electors from states won by Joe Biden.
In the Jan. 5 memo, obtained by Politico, Ellis went so far as to claim Pence had the authority to prevent a Biden presidency because certain parts of the Electoral Count Act were likely unconstitutional. Accordingly, Ellis wrote that the vice president “should … simply stop the count” when the time came for Arizona’s electors to be accepted.

Jonathan Karl’s Betrayal focuses on the final year of Donald Trump’s presidency, and while it’s hardly the first book out this year to capture the tumult of 2020, it is an indication that the bombshells and revelations from that White House will continue well into the future.
Following Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s Peril, Michael C. Bender’s Frankly, We Did Win This Election, and Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker’s I Alone Can Fix It, Karl’s Betrayal — with the subtitle The Final Act of the Trump Show — breaks new ground, with a heavier emphasis on the election’s aftermath and the storming of the Capitol on January 6. Among the details: The revelation that there was another detailed memo sent to Vice President Mike Pence’s team on how he could overturn the results of the election. This one came from Jenna Ellis, a Trump campaign attorney,...

Former Trump Lawyer Jenna Ellis Quits GOP While On Air, Says Party Doesn’t Back Trump Enough (Video)
Jenna Ellis, who served as a lawyer for former president Donald Trump, quit the Republican party on Monday because, she said, it doesn’t support Trump enough. She made the declaration on her “Just the Truth” program on Real America’s Voice.
“Even if I stand alone for the truth, I will stand for the truth,” declared Ellis, who backed Trump in his efforts to baselessly claim that he won the 2020 election. His false claims led a number of his supporters to riot at the Capitol Jan. 6 in an effort to stop the certification of President Joe Biden’s win that left five dead.
She accused the Republican National Committee of “not championing” the right issues, then took on its leadership.
“All of them, including [RNC chair] Ronna McDaniel, should resign now. Until they do, as of today, I am resigning from the party. I am changing my voter registration and I...

While residents in U.K. are getting their shots for the Covid-19 vaccine, late night hosts Trevor Noah and Jimmy Kimmel fired theirs at President Donald Trump on Tuesday night as they criticized the former reality television star for his vaccine rollout plans.
The New York Times reported on Monday that the White House passed on a chance to secure more Pfizer vaccine doses for Americans. A now passed-on $1.95 billion deal to secure more Covid-19 vaccine doses for Americans who need it means a longer wait and a surplus for other countries.
“This may seem like it was a dumb decision by Trump but, if you take a moment to think about it, you’ll realize that it was a really f**king dumb decision by Trump,” The Daily Show host said on Tuesday night.

Although the swearing-in of President-elect Joe Biden is just about six weeks away, President Donald Trump has still been dominating the news, most recently with a hearing regarding allegations of fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Naturally, for “Saturday Night Live’s” first show back after a few week hiatus, the late-night sketch comedy series led with a satirization of that televised event, featuring Kate McKinnon as Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani, Cecily Strong as “star witness” Melissa Carone and Chloe Fineman as “Nicole Kidman’s character from ‘The Undoing'” (aka Grace Fraser).
McKinnon began the sketch, which you can watch above, by saying it was exciting to “just be in a courtroom where I’m not the defendant.” Planning to “prove” that the election was stolen “with a level of trickery” not seen since Harry Houdini, McKinnon’s Giuliani was interrupted by fart noises that the character claimed “wasn...

Attorney General William Barr said on Tuesday that the Justice Department had uncovered no evidence of widespread voter fraud that would fuel an overturning of the presidential election to Joe Biden.
“To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election,” Barr said in an interview with the Associated Press.
Barr’s comments are significant in that he had previously shared some of President Donald Trump’s concerns over mail-in voting in the weeks before the election. And then, two days after major networks called the presidential race for Biden, Barr issued a directive to federal prosecutors to look into cases of alleged voting fraud. That generated concerns that Barr was breaking with Justice Department precedent to wait until after results are certified before pursuing such claims.

Updated, 4:15 Pm with White House statement on Flynn: The White House said Wednesday that President Donald Trump’s executive grant of clemency granting a full pardon to Michael Flynn came because Flynn “should never have been prosecuted.” Read the full statement below this story.

President Trump’s lawsuit-heavy coup to overturn the election results hit a little snag over the weekend.
Sidney Powell, the very serious attorney who refers to herself as “The Kraken” while promising “biblical” revelations of nonexistent election fraud, went so far off the deep end that even Donald Trump had to disavow her. After a week spent promoting increasingly outlandish conspiracy theories — including that Georgia’s Republican Governor Brian Kemp was bribed to rig the election for Joe Biden — the Trump campaign on Sunday released a statement claiming Powell is...

Bill Maher’s penultimate Real Time before the holidays packed a wallop.
Maher began by trying to have a civil conversation with Jenna Ellis, a Senior Legal Advisor for the Trump 2020 campaign.
He thanked Ellis for being brave enough to be on the show. He then tried to allow her to state her case.
Ellis ran through a list of debunked election fraud claims that Maher tried to fact check before resorting to: “Just stop. Just stop it.”
But the host was more critical of Democrats who, Maher seemed to be saying, were finding ways to seize defeat from the jaws of victory.
In his “New Rules” soliloquy, Maher noted that Democrats failed to flip the Senate. That they failed to flip state legislators. They lost seats in the House. That, for all Democrats’ talk of systemic racism, their share of minority votes went down.
The message to Democrats from so much of the country,...
