A fifth Game of Thrones prequel is confirmed to be in the works, with veteran writer and co-executive producer Bryan Cogman at the helm.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Cogman has been working closely with author George R.R. Martin to develop the project, which will join four prequels previously announced this past May.
Cogman has been involved with HBO's Game of Thrones series since the very first season, initially hired as an assistant to show runners David Benioff and Dan Weiss. He has since written numerous episodes, including several...

Winter isn’t even remotely over. Entertainment Weekly reports that yet another “Game of Thrones” prequel series is in the works at HBO — though there are no guarantees that any, let alone all of them will get the green light — joining the four that were previously announced in May. This one comes from long-time “Got” writer and co-executive producer Bryan Cogman, who reportedly “worked closely” with author and creator George R.R. Martin in developing the drama spinoff.
Cogman has been with the hit HBO series since its very first season, when he was initially hired as an assistant to showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss. Over the years, Cogman has penned a number of the series’ signature episodes, including “Stormborn,” “The Laws of Gods and Men,” and “Kissed by Fire.” He’s also on deck to pen a new version of the Disney classic “The Sword in the Stone.”

Of all the Game of Thrones fan theories currently flooding the Internet, the one that arguably gained the most traction over the course of season 7 involved the Night King and Bran Stark, who is now known as the all-seeing Three-Eyed Raven of Westeros.
It’s a little out-there, but stick with us. Essentially, the theory postulates that young Bran Stark is the Night King, and his ability to flit back in time can be traced all the way back to the moment when the Children of the Forest birthed the White Walkers north of the Wall. It would go some way to explaining Bran’s seemingly limitless ability, which took center stage during Sunday’s finale “The Dragon and the Wolf” when he revealed Jon Snow to be Aegon Targaryen, the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.
But does that really mean that Bran and the all-powerful – and as of...

As development of the “Game of Thrones” spinoffs get underway, HBO confirmed that two of the four projects are being co-written by author George R.R. Martin.
Martin wrote in a blog post this May that he was working on all four “successor” shows, and he did indeed meet with the writers behind all four shows: Max Borenstein, Jane Goldman, Brian Helgeland, and Carly Wray. But as originally reported, Martin will actually co-write with two of them: Goldman and Wray.

“The four writers, he talked to all of them and we left it up to them whether they wanted George involved in the writing,” said HBO programming president Casey Bloys. “Two have him co-creating and two don’t. That was their choice.”

If you got it, flaunt it.
That seems to be what Darren Criss had in mind on Tuesday when he posted an almost-nude selfie while filming his new show, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.
“So what’s more red? My sunburn, my speedo, or Your Face??? #ACSVersace,” he wrote in the caption.
The 30-year-old actor held his barely there speedo over his nether regions as he showed off his red face, shoulders, and arms.
YouTube star Tyler Oakley seemed at a loss for words, commenting on the photo, “i can’t even, i’m unable to even,...

Sin City is about to experience "La Vida Loca."
But before Ricky Martin kicks off his Las Vegas residency on April 5 at Monte Carlo's Park Theater, the 45-year-old superstar gave Et's Kevin Frazier a sneak peek at what to expect from the high-energy show.
"We wanted to do something that has never been done in Vegas," Martin teased during rehearsals in Los Angeles on Friday. "There's gonna be a mosh pit! ... Right here, in the center, is where the crowd [won't] have chairs. It's about dancing and having a great time."
Martin, of course, will be leading the charge, dancing his heart out right from the get-go.
"Of course, I come to sweat!" he said. "Thirty seconds into the show and I'm drenched. It's a good energy show. We start with one of the biggest hits and then we have lots of highs and lows. We're gonna go through the romantic side of life in general, and then we're...

It’s hard to believe that last year saw HBO’s Game of Thrones series slingshot past the source material, but that’s exactly what happened. Armed with a team of strong writers and a general idea of the where to take the plot, the filmmakers carved their way through Season 6 of the show, proving that the source material isn’t always needed in order to make for a great episode of television. Though while all things seem to be going A-ok on the TV front, we can’t help but wonder just when we can expect author George R.R. Martin to actually finish the next book in the Song of Ice and Fire series, The Winds of Winter.
The Winds of Winter (Like A Dance With Dragons before it) has been frequently delayed due to author George R.R. Martin’s busy schedule (not to mention the complex nature of...

[[tmz:video id="0_fd0wmx1w"]] Lauren Duca got Martin Shkreli suspended Sunday from Twitter after a simple invite to Trump's inauguration turned into creepy online harassment. Duca -- a writer for Teen Vogue -- reached out to Twitter's CEO and founder Jack Dorsey after Shkreli initially offered Lauren a +1 to the inauguration last week, which quickly escalated into stalking territory when she shot him down. Afterward, Shkreli turned his Twitter page into a shrine for Lauren ... insinuating they were a couple,...
