AmericanaFest has announced new safety guidelines for this year’s event in response to the Delta variant of Covid-19. All attendees will now be required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test prior to entry to any of the festival’s concerts, showcases and panels. Masks are also encouraged for any indoor functions, including for people who have already been vaccinated. AmericanaFest runs September 22nd to 25th at venues throughout Nashville.

The 2020 Americana Honors and Awards have been postponed amid concerns over the Covid-19 pandemic. The ceremony was originally set to take place September 16th with a live event at the Ryman Auditorium and will instead be held at a later, yet-to-be-announced date.

The Americana Honors & Awards ceremony is the flagship event of every AmericanaFest, which officially got under way on Tuesday in Nashville. First held in 2002, the ceremony honors both emerging talent as well as genre icons, and has, over the last 18 years, championed the careers of beloved artists like John Prine, Margo Price, Jason Isbell and Bonnie Raitt.
