We continue our hunt for quality bargain basement Christmas films! The Santa Incident is not one!
The Santa Incident contains all of the necessary ingredients for a Christmas classic. Santa? Check. People who don't believe in Santa? Check. Doubters being won over by Santa's jolly benevolence? Check. Cute but mildly irritating kids? Check. Absentee father? Check. Over-worked single mother struggling to bring up her kids? Check. Santa being shot down by a military fighter jet and then being pursued by over-zealous Homeland security agents who want to kill him? Erm... check?
Moments after taking a side-winder to the face and being propelled skywards from his sleigh at a thousand miles an hour, Santa's unconscious bulk thuds down on the cold concrete of a working dock. A young brother and sister skipping school save Santa from having his head crushed by a gargantuan piece of machinery, whereupon he's...

Hank Azaria may not be a man you immediately recognise by name but I guarantee you’ve seen his work either on the screen or one of his multitudes of voices.
Hank is a man with many talents! He’s voiced dozens of characters on The Simpsons over the years and as well as all his work behind the camera, has an extensive filmography appearing on the screen too. We got to sit down with him at the Summer of Sony junket for his latest movie The Smurfs 2 where we talk about this career and how it has evolved into playing the character of Gargamel, the Smurfs arch nemesis.
We find out if he has a preffered role that he likes to play, where he finds the voices for all the characters that he portrays and whether he prefers to appear in front or behind the camera! We also...

2011 movie The Smurfs was such a mega-hit that a sequel was fast-tracked by Sony and on Wednesday 31st July, the second installment will be hitting big screens across the UK. At the Summer of Sony in Cancun earlier this year, we got to catch up with many of the cast and filmmakers of the project including Neil Patrick Harris, Hank Azaria, Producer Jordan Kerner and Director Raja Gosnell. We also get to hear from Katy Perry who plays Smurfette at the press conference so keep your eyes peeled for that on going live on Tuesday next week.
Today and first up we hear from Director Raja Gosnell who talks about how this second movie has advanced from the first, what some of the challenges on completing the second film were and how the characters have changed. We find out what it was like shooing with drone cameras around Notre Dame,...

Funnyman Hank Azaria struggled with his split from ex-wife Helen Hunt because her image kept popping up on billboards as he attempted to move on with his life.
The Smurfs and The Simpsons star and actress Hunt split in 2000, less than a year after they wed, and Azaria admits his ex's celebrity status made the break-up really tough - because he was constantly reminded of their failed romance.
He tells Elle magazine, "Getting over someone is a grieving process. You mourn the loss of the relationship, and that's only expedited by 'Out of sight, out of mind.' But when you walk outside and see them on a billboard or on TV or on the cover of a magazine, it reopens the wound. It's a high-class problem, but it's for real."
Azaria has since moved on with girlfriend Katie Wright, the mother of his two-year-old son Hank. Hunt is currently in a relationship with director Matthew Carnahan. They have a seven-year-old daughter, called Makena.

Looking back, I've realized how good a summer it has been at the theaters. The other day, the entire Tmp staff recounted our personal favorite films to come out in Summer 2011, and reading all the staff picks beforehand, it dawned on me: this has been an amazing summer for me, for Tmp, and for film fans all over. Before I could fully move on to the Fall movie season, I knew I had to make my peace and deliver a final goodbye to the Summer that was 2011 at the movies.
We here at Tmp have invested a lot of time into Summer 2011. We tackled a huge guide compiling every single notable release of the Summer into four convenient, easy to read articles. We predicted what would be the highest grossing films of the season, and did a pretty damn good job at it (if I do say so my self...

"The Smurfs" took "Cowboys & Aliens" for a ride at the box office over the weekend when the two blockbusters tied for the top spot. And the movie's cast recently chatted with MTV News and recalled some of their favorite memories from the vintage "Smurfs" cartoon.
"We were a big 'Smurfs' household," "Glee" star Jayma Mays explained. "We had the glasses and the sheets and the whole thing. We didn't have the figurines that some people collect, but my mom loved 'The Smurfs,' so she would make me watch."
Co-star Hank Azaria also has a backstory with the lovable cartoon. "I was highly familiar with Gargamel and 'The Smurfs,' being an animation fan, even...

They’re blue. They’re three apples high. And admit it, you probably have a few of the tiny plastic paeans to their awesomeness tucked away in boxes somewhere in your parent’s house. Probably in your old room, which is now the “yoga studio”. Yep, you guessed it; la la la la-la la, la la la-la la, The Smurfs are baaaack. And this time they’re goin’ live, in NYC. Well, kinda live. Live-ish? No matter how you Smurf it, it’s a whole lot of fun.
If you’re thinking to yourself that there’s no Smurfing way in Smurf that you’d see this Smurfin’ film? Two things: one, it’s an adorable film that re-works the little blue guys (and gal) much the same way The Brady Bunch Movie successfully brought that series into the present day. And two, there’s no need for that kind of language.

Everett Neil Patrick Harris in “The Smurfs”
These days it seems like Neil Patrick Harris is everywhere. He stars in one of television’s most popular sitcoms, “How I Met Your Mother.” He hosts seemingly every other awards show. And now he’s on the big screen, starring opposite the diminutive icons the Smurfs, in a feature film about their adventures.
Speakeasy sat down with Harris in Los Angeles, where he talked about finding a balance between being silly and being serious in “The Smurfs,...

Los Angeles (Reuters) - Neil Patrick Harris may be the most versatile star in showbiz. The Emmy-award winner can sing and dance, perform voice-overs, host award shows, and still finds to act in the TV show "How I Met Your Mother."
Now, he's working with little people in family film "The Smurfs," which mixes live-action characters with the blue animated creatures made famous in the cartoons.
The film hits theaters Friday with Harris playing a marketing executive whose life and career are thrown into chaos when the Smurfs magically appear in his New York apartment.
Harris spoke to Reuters about his outrageous behavior in the "Harold and Kumar" movies and how he avoided the traps of Hollywood stardom as a child actor.
Q: Were you a Smurfs fan as a kid?
