Tributes are pouring in today for the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip, who has died at the age of 99. Below you can find a roundup of prominent international figures, plus The Crown producer Netflix and more.
UK Pm Boris Johnson said the following in a press conference outside Number 10 shortly after the news broke: “It was with great sadness that a short time ago I received word from Buckingham Palace that his royal highness the Duke of Edinburgh has passed away at the age of 99.
“Prince Philip earned the affection of generations here in the United Kingdom, across the Commonwealth, and around the world. He was the longest servicing consort in history, [and] one of the last surviving people to have served in the Second World War…he helped to steer the royal family and the monarchy so it remains an institution indisputably vital to the balance and happiness of our national life.

President Trump will travel to the seats of the world’s three major monotheistic faiths on his first foreign trip, the White House announced Thursday.
The visits to Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the Vatican will take place during the fourth week of May, before Trump’s previously announced trip to meet with Nato allies in Brussels and G-7 leaders in Sicily. Senior Administration officials previewed the trip for reporters Thursday, saying the symbolic visit marks an effort to reset relations with the faith community and to “seize the opportunity” presented by the rise of the Islamic State to develop closer ties with Middle Eastern allies.

Just when you think it can’t get worse—that the vocal, racist minority spewing bile will be extinguished in a show of tide-turning empathy—everything is literally engulfed in flames as a city watches it burn to cheers from a cesspool of hate. This is the 2012-2013 season for Beitar Jerusalem Fc in the Israeli Premier League. A soccer team beloved by enough fans to make them a political target for President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the reason their owner at the time (Arcadi Gaydamak) bought the club was to cement his (failed) bid for mayor. The only team in the league to never sign an Arab, their diehard fans (La Familia) earnestly and joyously chant, “We’re the most racist team in Israel.”
Documentarian Maya Zinshtein couldn’t have picked a better season to shoot a movie about Beitar. Four years removed from playoff conversation...
