“And the air was full of Thoughts and Things to Say. But at times like these, only the Small Things are ever said. Big Things lurk unsaid inside.” Those words, from Arundhati Roy’s 1997 novel The God of Small Things, come to mind while watching Shuchi Talati’s Girls Will Be Girls, a coming-of-age tale about a teenage girl who’s trying to navigate her newfound romantic feelings, burgeoning sexual desires, and longstanding familial tensions in a society where none of these things can be spoken about openly. Through its tender storytelling, complex characters, and intimate, tactile camerawork, Talati’s impressive debut feature manages to make all of these unspoken elements ring out loud and clear.

Actor Rohan Vinod Mehra, who plays the character of Subhendu Mukherjee in the gritty crime thriller ‘Kaala’, opened up about his favourite moments from the show, specially the scenes with Elisha Mayor.
In ‘Kaala’ we see how Rohan aka Subhendu’s relationships with his family, friends, and comrades are at the heart of the story. It reminds us that the connections we form can profoundly influence the way we navigate life’s journey, just as the character’s bonds shape the theme of the show.
Talking about the same, Rohan said: “My focus was on understanding who this man truly was because, in the end, regardless of our age, whether we’re teenagers, in our twenties, thirties, or sixties, we all share certain emotions and react to situations in specific ways. Most importantly, we all have relationships with people.”

New Delhi, Sep 15 (Ians) Ambitious gangsters have worked their way up the ranks of the criminal underworld and go on to hit big time too. This is an over-familiar tale with nearly all offenders claiming a childhood that looked normal but some minor aberrations and later major ones, turned them into the most wanted category of lawbreakers.
Mumbai can’t seem to forgive or forget Dawood Ibrahim. With good reason too. The global terrorist is an Indian mob boss, drug lord, and terrorist from Dongri in Mumbai, who is wanted by the Government of India.
‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ is an action-packed period drama set in the 1960s, based on and a sneak peek into post-Independence Bombay and its streets riddled with crime. It is as much an honest cop’s journey as he attempts to protect his family.

One of the last reels of the series shows the protagonist passing through a dark tunnel into the light, metaphorically telling that there is light at the end of tunnel in terms of possibilities of curbing and dealing with the black money mafia. Kaala seems to be derived from the term ‘Kaala Paisa’ or ‘Black Money’. Earlier filmmakers dealt with the counterfeit notes mafia in ‘Farzi’, this time around Bejoy Nambiar’s ‘Kaala’ deals with ‘Hawala’ dealings. From the director who made thrillers like Shaitan, David & Wazir, Kaala adds to his exceptional storytelling repertoire and introduces us to the term ‘Reverse Hawala’ – converting white money into black and pumping huge stash of cash for illicit activities including terrorism.
Kaala is set against the backdrop of chaotic Kolkata, a riveting tale of love, loss, betrayal and irony. With young and ambitious Ib officer Ritwik Mukherjee (Avinash Tiwary) life seems like a series of random events,...

Bejoy said: “When we were writing ‘Kaala’, Aviansh was the first actor of choice who popped into our heads. He was like this mental poster boy for the character we were crafting.”
“Given his impressive track record, even though he hadn’t ventured into something quite like this before, I had solid belief that he could pull off an extraordinary performance. So, the moment I sat down and briefed him about the character,...

Actor Rohan Vinod Mehra, best known for his role in the film ‘Bazaar’ along with Saif Ali Khan, opened up about his unconventional path to success in the world of entertainment. Rohan shared: “I believe I’ve had a unique start to my career. Despite having debuted in a film that garnered me praise and a respectable box office return, I didn’t get instant success. Post the release of the film, I spent months back in the auditioning process. Each of the parts I’ve landed after my debut have come through the system – something I take pride in.”
“I often get asked why I don’t work more, or why I’m not seen more. The truth is the industry is very competitive and multiple factors have to align in order to bag a role. My journey has taught me things about myself, the craft and the industry...

Filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar, who is awaiting the release of his web-series ‘Kaala’, has shared that he felt overwhelmed with the sheer volume of work that a web-series entails because he is used to doing feature films.
The longer format of a show did bring along certain challenges for him but he quickly made his way around it and took it as a learning experience.
Bejoy spoke to the media on Thursday and said: “This experience of working on a series was quite new to me. I’m used to working on feature films but webseries is a different game altogether. What you will see on your screens (‘Kaala’) is a monumental work of three years put up by a team that I’m grateful to”.
‘Kaala’ touches upon a unique concept of reverse hawala – converting white money to black as opposed to the regular practice of making the black money white.

Mumbai, Aug 31 (Ians) Actor Taher Shabbir, who is gearing up to play the negative part in the upcoming crime series ‘Kaala’, has shared that he never judges the right and wrong of his characters. For him, it’s about how much he can connect with the character to portray it with authenticity which eventually makes the character compelling enough for the audience.
The actor spoke to the media on Thursday and spoke about his character of Naman Arora: “I don’t look at his characters through the lens of protagonist or antagonist.”
Instead, the actor mentioned that to sketch a riveting performance an actor has to defend their character and its actions.
He further mentioned: “The trick is to defend the character, when you do that, you empathise with the character, and when you empathise with the character you become the character which automatically lends credibility and authenticity to the performance.

Film: "Warning"; Cast: Santosh Barmola, Suzana Rodrigues, Varun Sharma, Manjari Phadnis, Jitin Gulati, Sumit Suri and Madhurima Tulii; Director: Gurmmeet Singh; Rating: **
Water a waste of time! Slasher movies work best on terra-firma where girls in a state of disrobed desperation make a dash for safety. Alas, here the characters have nowhere to run to. Neither do we.
In "Warning", the entire slasher genre is shifted to the aqua splendour of the Fijian water where true to its genre, characters start getting killed/wounded/slashed/maimed.
The ladies of this uproariously funny slasher movie get to wear swimwear most of the time..

The characters in Anubhav Sinha’s soon-to-be-released Warning 3D may have not paid heed to the warnings, but the producer sure did take heavy precautions during the shoot of this edge-of-the-seat survival film.
Shot in Fiji, the unpredictable deep cloudy waters tell a different story about the deceptive tranquillity of Pacific Ocean. Having at least 35 different species of sharks swimming and the dangerous currents of the Fijian waters, Anubhav Sinha took every safety measure possible understanding well that the perils of the underwater world cannot be taken for granted.
The actors could shoot only for a certain number of hours in a day in accordance to the time and temperature of the water so they wouldn’t fall sick. Dave Judge (action director) and Tack Baldwin, responsible for the safety of the actors, were called in from UK. Nat Geo’s Ken, who is a shark handler, was also roped...

Warning 3D has certainly caught the eye with the release of its trailer. With an interesting storyline, the film is the Bollywood’s first survival film. Shot in the picturesque southern Pacific Ocean with young and gorgeous talent, the film gives out a fresh vibe.
The actors were made to follow an intense fitness regime to get into the skin of their characters, during which the look and trait of each character was kept in mind. The detailing also reflects on the wardrobe chosen for each actor, to gel with the roles being played by them. The styling extended to the minutest specifics like eye wear, color palette and fit to define the traits of the characters.
One look at Sumit Suri’s character, Aman Puri, wearing an unbuttoned linen shirt, unshaven look and a devil-may-care attitude, and it’s easy to figure that he plays the role of a...
