From MTV Geek: The original 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and Elias Koteas notwithstanding, Casey Jones: The Movie by Polaris Banks is probably the most spot-on film treatment of the hockey-masked avenger you will ever find. With superior acting, cinematography, and direction, it is more than just another fan film -- but rather something more akin to Tmnt as done by Martin Scorsese.
Banks describes his rationale for putting so much time and effort into Casey Jones: The Movie as follows: he "felt obligated to make the movie simply because he knew that nobody else would." In addition to wearing many hats on the production, including director, writer, and editor, he also plays ninja turtle Donatello -- yep, that's right, the turtles themselves are also in the film, as well as April O'Neil in her yellow jumpsuit. The look of Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael are closer to...

Now anyone familiar with the original incarnations of the Tmnt will know that they started off much less kid friendly than they ended up, but I think these scary looking bastards might be taking it slightly too far! Still, very impressive work. Along with the main characters of Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, Splinter, Shredder, April O'Neil and Casey Jones we have Bebop, Rocksteady, Slash, Baxter Stockman, Wingnut with Screwloose, Metalhead and a Foot Soldier. You don't need me to point out who is who do ya?:) By TwitterButtons.com...

"The Change-Up" opens tomorrow in theaters nationwide, offering the moviegoing public a body-swap comedy in case they're not interested in rising for "Apes." Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds star as two pals — one a lawyer and family man, the other a man-childish cad — who pine for the other's daily existence, only to find their wishes granted with disastrous results.
Honestly, there aren't a lot of people in my life that I'd want to swap lives with. I already blog about movies for a living, so hey, things aren't so bad. But that doesn't mean there aren't people in the fictional movie space that I wouldn't trade places with for a day. There are a lot of those people.
Check out the top five movie characters I'd body-swap with after the jump!

This week, Matt takes a look back at the pilot episode of the 1994 RoboCop TV series, and is disturbed by its lack of violence…
The San Diego Comic-Con was held last weekend, and the world of nerds who like film stuff has been buzzing ever since. If my Twitter feed is anything to go by, and it might be, then everyone is going a bit mad about some television program, film or comic that was announced or trailed at the event. I, myself, found out about something as a result of the Sdcc that has me all in a dither.
What did I find out about? There's a porn star called April O'Neil who attended the Sdcc in costume as April O'Neil from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While my being thrilled by that might just seem a bit creepy to you, what's important here is what it means. Somehow,...

At an off-site location, during San Diego Comic-con, Nickelodeon unveiled their re-imagined version of Tmnt. The series won't hit the airwaves til possibly fall of 2012. This version will be CG animated, and our four heroes will finally be portrayed as true teens. About time someone actually embraced the teenager aspect of the turtles. Also the Vice President of Animation, Rich Magallanes, had an even clearer description of the turtles, he said,"the turtles will appear more like high school football players," The other dramatic change to the usual Tmnt storyline is that April O'neil is getting younger. To be exact, this new April will be just a teenager as well, sixteen years old. Read the two articles below for more details about the rebooted turtles. Excerpt from laweekly article "Someone in their 30s with their own life going on isn't going to be able to delegate that much interest into...

Turtles fans had to wait over a decade for it. But Tmnt, in spite of its problems, was worth the wait. Matt takes a look back...
After more than a decade away from the big screen, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles returned in 2007 for their fourth film, Tmnt. This marked the first computer animated outing for the foursome, although that hadn't always been the plan.
The fourth film was originally intended to be a live-action follow-on to part 3, titled The Next Mutation, which would have been released back in the 90s. Although little is known about that film, the scraps of information about it available online suggest a film very different from (and much worse than) this one.
Tmnt begins with a brief introduction to let us know where we're starting (probably a wise move, given the number of places they could have been carrying on from). With The Shredder defeated,...

They're mean, green and on the screen. Matt takes a look back at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a film that became a 90s phenomenon…
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was probably the most important thing in the world to me in the early 90s. More important than school, more important than football, more important than even Ghostbusters.
Pizza became my favourite food, I took karate lessons and I collected everything my pocket money would allow. Birthday and Christmas lists were predictably Turtle-centric and my bedroom was a shrine to the green machine.
I remember the first time I saw the film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, very clearly. I was getting ready for school when my dad got home from the night shift. He called me into the living room and sat me down in front of the television. The film started to play, with me none the wiser as to what I was watching.

Main characters are turtle 'Leonardo', the leader of the group who wears a blue mask and wields two Japanese 'katana' backswords, turtle 'Michelangelo' who wears an orange mask and wields a pair of traditional Okinawan 'nunchaku' sticks, turtle 'Donatello' who wears a purple mask and wields the 'ishibō' (bō) staff and turtle Raphael, who wears a red mask and wields two traditional Okinawan 'sai' dagger-shaped metal truncheons.
'Splinter', the Turtles' 'sensei' and adoptive father, is a Japanese mutant rat who learned the ways of 'ninjutsu' from his owner 'Hamato Yoshi'.
'Shredder', is the leader of the evil 'Foot Clan',...
