When asked about the founding of Formula E, a motorsport circuit that uses only electric cars, its current leader, a former Spanish politician named Alejandro Agag, lights a stogie and tells the unvarnished truth. Advertisers were starting to cool to Formula One for environmental reasons, and Agag admits that business incentivized the development of Formula E more than concern for the air that he’s filling with cigar smoke. The confession reflects the ethos of “And We Go Green,” a documentary about the series’ fourth year that presents itself as a planet-conscious endorsement of clean-energy technology, but is mostly about the brash personalities competing for the championship. It’s the type of engaging-but-shallow sports doc that pops up frequently on streaming services, which seem the finish lines it will ultimately cross.

Exclusive: Professional Race Car Driver Nelson Piquet Jr Challenges Jay-z’s Behind-the-Wheel Skills!
Et's Deidre Behar caught up with Formula E race car driver Nelson Piquet Jr. at the New York City ePrix, where the 31-year-old champion dished on all things racing -- and even which celeb he'd like to take to the track.
While the high-octane sport draws famous fans like Chris Hemsworth and Naomi Campbell, it was a high-profile rapper Piquet Jr. was interested in racing.
"We're in Brooklyn, so I think Jay-z," Piquet Jr. said. "[He] would be a great partner to be fighting against the track."
But before Piquet Jr. challenges Jay-z to the track, he challenges Behar, putting her to the test with a bet.
"You know things are getting serious when the heels come off and the sneakers come on!" Behar teased.
While Behar may have lost the race, she didn't lose the bet, using Visa's cashless tap and go payment initiative for Piquet Jr.'s gift.
"Better luck next time for me," Behar teased...

In what may be one of the biggest scandals ever in motor racing, Flavio Briatore, flamboyant team principal of the Ing Renault Formula 1 Grand Prix team and Pat Symonds, Renault F1's director of engineering, have both resigned their positions under a heavy, dark cloud of charges and suspicions. This is following allegations that the pair were instrumental in "fixing" the September, 2008, Singapore Grand Prix by ordering their driver, Nelson Piquet Jr., to crash near the end of the race to bring the safety car on the track in order to make it easier for the team's #1 driver, Fernando Alonso, to win the race. We Americans know the "safety car" situation as the pace car on-track and slowing the cars in a yellow flag situation. Fernando Alonso in his office; his Renault team is accused of ordering his fellow...
