Associated Broadcasting Corporation, a fast growing Philippine television company, backed up its controversial and money-making game show host despite the furor generated by alleged child abuse cases against the host.
TV5 said Thursday that it will not axe the evening game show "Willing Willie" - hosted by Willie Revillame - even if the host continues to be criticized in the Philippines and overseas for allowing a six-year old boy named Jan-jan Suan to perform a macho dance in exchange for 1 (Php 10,000).
What caught the ire of many Filipinos was that the child was in tears while performing the dance number, making it look like he was only forced to perform. Revillame denied the boy was coerced and even got the child's parents to execute affidavits that the child performed the same dance in school two years ago.
