The first trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was finally released this morning, just months before the sequel is slated to hit theaters. Most everyone has returned to reprise their roles, but there is one notable absence: Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Aquaman’s mentor.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom director James Wan confirmed that Willem Dafoe will not be making an appearance in the sequel. “Willem is not in this one, no,” Wan said. “Part of the reason was because his schedule did not work out for us. But what that allowed me to do was expand on Atlanna’s role. Atlanna in this one ultimately becomes Arthur’s advisor. Because Arthur’s not from this world, she helps him better understand the world and the politics of how things work.” Nuidis Vulko was a definite highlight of the first Aquaman movie for me,...

Warner Bros. has debuted a new trailer for the sequel to the highest-grossing DC film of all time: ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.’
Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.

In a strange turn of events, a Marvel artist has publically body-shamed a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actor in a disgusting online post.
“Marvel artist, Mike Deodato, is being slammed after he publicly body-shamed Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star, Tenoch Huerta, on Twitter. Huerta is best known for starring in Spectre, The Forever Purge, and Narcos: Mexico. During San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it was revealed that Huerta had joined the cast of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and would be portraying Namor (a.k.a. Sub-Mariner). Often referred to as “Marvel’s First Mutant,” Namor is a prevalent character in numerous Marvel storylines and has worked with the likes of the Avengers, Illuminati, X-Men, and Fantastic Four over the years.?

Speaking of Namor’s actor from Wakanda Forever, Tenoch Huerta admits he didn’t even know how to swim before being cast as the King of Atlantis.

James Wan’s Aquaman, to me, evokes the same response as watching James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy for the first time. Marvel’s catalog tracks more favorably into Phase Two than WB’s DC slate until now, but the beginnings of repetitive structure and formula still exist. Enter Star-Lord, Gamora, a gun-nut raccoon, and more space oddity misfits who reignited a sense of creative wonder before the McU could harden over with staleness (something that was further extrapolated by future titles). In that same regard, here comes Arthur Curry, Mera, and scuttling crustacean warriors to rescue the Dceu from – frankly – its unfocused, boorish, hop-around tonal self.
Staggering ambition turns Aquaman into a sensory overload spectacle that riffs off hypermasculine, 80s brototypes, your mom’s favorite cutesy rom-coms, and sci-fi battles that immediately had me thinking of Heavy Metal. Gasps of astonishment will be a constant scene-by-scene milestone, as...

At the same time we get the Nintendo Classic Mini in the west, Japan's getting a tiny Famicom with its own games selection...
Back in July, Nintendo announced the Classic Mini - a dinky version of the classic Nes packaged with some of 80s console's classic games. If, like us, you were quietly hoping that Nintendo of Japan might release a miniaturised incarnation of the country's own Famicom, your prayers have been answered.
The Nintendo Classic Mini Family Computer, to give the machine its full title, is a perfect recreation of the original console, right down to the little red, wired-in controllers and the metallic label running across the front. The selection of 30 games is slightly different, too - courtesy of Destructoid, here's the list, with the ones exclusive to the Famicom marked with an asterisk:

I recently posted a great piece of art that featured a little kid blowing into an original Nintendo Entertainment System game cartridge. It got me thinking about all the games I used to play back in the day, and I started looking up some old stuff to reminisce on those good old days. As I was skimming through some stuff, a lot of video game cartridge images were popping up and I noticed there was some really cool art that was created for some of these games. One of the other things I noticed is that the bad art outweighed the good, so I thought I'd pluck out a few of the coolest Nes game cartridge illustrations that I came across and do a little post for them. Castlevania sure seemed to know what they were doing when it came to the art as the first three games top the list.
