Director Kazuya Ogawa (Pink Subaru) and producer Akira Yamaguchi (Robogeisha) attempt to put a distinctly Japanese spin on the American slasher film with Killer Motel. Assembling a cast packed with beautiful, promiscuous "sex junkies", taking them deep into the woods and leaving them at the mercy of a "bewitching" motel landlady and her chainsaw-wielding groundsman, the film looks set to deliver on its promise of "action-packed horror with an erotic twist and over-the-top splatter effects." The first trailer has arrived and while the English-language voiceover was certainly a misstep, the film itself seems to know its target audience and what they demand from a film like this.
