Season two of hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian sees its two breakout stars, the title character bounty hunter (played by Pedro Pascal) and Grogu (better known on the internet as Baby Yoda), heading deeper into the Star Wars universe — and with greater exploration comes greater stunts.

Ryan Watson’s career in stunt work began when he was 16 years old and played the Ninja Turtle Raphael in a series of shows at Disney World in Orlando, Fla. From there he packed up his costume carapace, moved to Los Angeles and never looked back. Watson has worked on blockbuster movies including “Wonder Woman” and “Pirates of the Caribbean,” but the greatest challenge of his career so far has been coordinating stunts and fight sequences for the Disney Plus series “The Mandalorian,” for which he is now Emmy-nominated.
How did you score your first gig working in film and TV stunts?
I moved out to L.A. on a whim with 300 bucks in my pocket. Within two weeks I got a job on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” from a connection I had in Orlando, and I ended up doubling one of the main guys just by accident. I thought,...

If viewers were asked to point to the single most popular and influential TV character to emerge last year, it would have to be the Child, more casually referred to as Baby Yoda. The adorable animatronic puppet was introduced to the world in Season 1 of Disney Plus’ “The Mandalorian” and was solidified as a “Star Wars” universe legend in the second episode when the titular Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) was fighting with the ferocious Mudhorn in a squelchy, slippery mud pit. Mando tries every trick in his book to defeat the fearsome beast, including firing his flamethrower and using his grappling hook, but to no avail. The Mudhorn makes its final charge at the mercenary when suddenly it finds itself lifted off the ground by the Child, who is demonstrating his abilities using the Force for the first time, sending fans around the globe into fits of excitement.

Stopping time is a gift and curse. Let’s look back at the tough choices that befell the eponymous protagonist in Bernard’s Watch...
Bernard’s Watch – the ultimate dream, am I right? In this ITV children’s show, the protagonist Bernard is always late for stuff, so a magic postman gives him a watch that can stop time. Rather than having to learn about time keeping or prioritising or not letting people down, Bernard is gifted with an easy way to solve all of his problems. What fun!

But with great timepiece comes great responsibility. Bernard - who was played by David Peachey for the first five seasons, and then Ryan Watson for the show’s final two runs - was thrust into some moralistic quandaries by his handy stopwatch.

17 year old Scottish actor John Bell leads the cast in WWII drama The Man in the Box which started filming on location near Innsbruck in Tirol (Austria) in mid-December, with filming now recommencing on location in Austria and Germany, as well as in Italy, near Bressanone.
The Man in the Box is a screen adaptation of Thomas Moran's novel by the same name, set in August 1944 in a small village in the Austrian Tyrol.
John (represented by Independent Talent) plays 15 year old Niki, who's family, with some reluctance, take into hiding a Jewish doctor who saved the boy's life before the war. A member of Hitler Youth, Niki is appalled by the idea, his mother frightened, but his father insists. Combined with the growing attraction between him and an almost blind neighbour girl (Sigi), a relationship gradually evolves between the boy and Doctor Weiss, the 'man in the box',...

According to a new report from Batman News, "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" fight and stunt choreographer, Guillermo Grispo, recently chatted with Spanish website, Los Andes Diario, and gave away some small details about the huge fight scene that will go down between Batman and Superman. He talked about how the fight sequence will make sense how it all comes about. He also talked a little about how he choreographed it and more. Here's what Guillermo had to say, verbatim when asked about it: " Look, at Warner Bros., they are very strict, so I can’t say much, but it’s no surprise if I say Batman and Superman come face-to-face in the movie. It’s one of the most important sequences and I was actively involved in the design of the fight: the exchange of punches and the physical movement were put together with my partner Ryan Watson.

Ah, yes. The big fight. Ever since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was announced (well, it was Batman vs Superman back then), fans have gathered around proverbial water coolers around the web to discuss how it would it wall play out. What happens when a mortal martial artist meets a demigod that loves punching things for a spirited round of fisticuffs? Will it be the central battle of the film? Will it be a short, fan service-y sequence that mainly acts as a build-up to other, greater developments?
Director Zack Snyder turned to his longtime fight choreographer, Guillermo Grispo, to put together the fights for Batman v Superman. The Argentinian recently sat down with the Los Andes Diario's Estilo section to shed some light on what drew him to the project, and how he approached putting together one of the most anticipated fights ever to appear on film.

Guillermo Grispo, a stunt and fight choreographer on "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," recently spoke with Spanish website Los Andes Diario (via Batman-News) and appears to have dropped some interesting details about the film and the key fight at its center.
Grispo says he almost worked on Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" but the contract couldn't be resolved in time. On this film he prepared choreography for the stunt coordinator and second unit director, Damon Caro, and has worked on Snyder's "300," "Sucker Punch" and "Man of Steel".
This included "operating the camera for the action shot tests, doing the choreography, and afterwards all of the image composition for these kinds of sample action scenes". Asked what he can you tell us about the story, he says:

Here's a little taste of a behind the scenes featurette that will be included with the DVD/Blu-ray release of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. The video focuses on how they came up with ways to make Superman fly and show him fly the fastest that he's ever flown before in film. There are some really cool behind the scenes shots, and it features some of the crew talking about the challenges of making Superman fly. Stuntman Ryan Watson said,
"In the film, you're going to see Superman flying faster than he's ever flown before. It's hard to come up with those speeds."
I personally thought they did a great job with the visual effects, and it was awesome seeing Superman fly the way he did in Man of Steel. The movie hits Blu-ray on November 12th.

Digital Spy has released a video that will be included in the upcoming “Man of Steel” blu ray. The video centers on the wire work used to create Superman’s flight in last summer’s “Man of Steel.” In the one-minute clip, stuntman Ryan Watson discusses how they strived to make Superman fly “faster than he’s ever flown before.”
Take a look at the clip. You’ll get a real sense of the very physical way they filmed Superman’s most popular power.
“Man of Steel” comes out on blu ray November 12th in the Us.
On a personal note, I wish there had been more seamless takeoffs and landings in the film. The sharp, abrupt takeoffs took me out of it and reminded me of the old Kirk Alyn serials where the character would be live action when on land but turn into a cartoon when flying. I...

Man of Steel has premiered a new behind-the-scenes clip exclusively through Digital Spy.
The minute-long video, which will appear on the upcoming Man of Steel DVD and Blu-ray release, looks at how director Zack Snyder and his visual effects team made Henry Cavill take flight.
The British actor is shown being suspended from wire and gimbal rigs in front of a green screen as a starting point for the comic book hero's supersonic flight.
"In the film, you're going to see Superman flying faster than he's ever flown before," said stuntman Ryan Watson. "It's hard to come up with those speeds."
Man of Steel will debut on DVD, Blu-ray and download on November 12 in the Us and December 2 in the UK.

MOSCOW -- A new Prague-based British production company aims to tap private investors directly, using telephone sales techniques to raise money for independent feature films. Year of the Snake, founded by Londoner Mark Phelan and Colorado native Ryan Watson, who met in the Czech Republic while working in telemarketing, is using a team of trained sales representatives at a Prague call center to offer investors a chance to share directly in the profits -- and risks -- of making movies. With a six-year schedule of five films with average budgets of $10 million, Year of the Snake aims to raise $50 million through three share offerings, the first of which, for 10,000 shares priced at $750 each ($7.5 million) is already under way and "moving well ahead of schedule," according to the company.
