Some of the most intriguing films are mysteries. You’re not sure what you’re looking at until the final frame, and sometimes, even then, you’re left questioning what you’ve just seen with your own two eyes. Bernardo Britto’s mockumentary “Jacqueline (Argentine)” left me with this particular feeling. So full of twist and turns, it’s a film that is as fascinating as it is exasperating. Britto was inspired by Laura Poitras’ Academy Award winning documentary “Citizenfour”, about Nsa spy Eric Snowden. However, “Jacqueline (Argentine)” is something else entirely. The film follows an unnamed struggling film director (played by Wyatt Cenac) who, while house-sitting for a friend in Miami,...

Aaron Sorkin is an exceptionally talent writer who brings a playwright’s sensibilities to television which means his characters talk. A lot. But unlike so many prime time series, his characters actually have something to say. It’s a shame more people don’t want to hear whatever it is being discussed because Sorkin series tend not to last very long.
There were two seasons of Sports Night, four Sorkin-produced episodes of The West Wing and a single uneven season of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. For his self-proclaimed final act in television, Sorkin gave us three ever-shortened seasons of The Newsroom. This last ran on HBO and other than using a handful of words, could have easily aired on the major networks. After all, Sorkin didn’t pander with nudity or excessive violence.

As far as most people can tell, though the actual chronology tends to get confusing, it all started with the late Andrew Brietbart.
In between the right wing of American politics stomping up and down about Hollywood liberals like George Clooney and Angelina Jolie, occasionally they take a break and instead summarily hijack a beloved film for their own political means. As opposed to successfully producing content that is undoubtedly in line with their politics, guys like Rush Limbaugh and Brietbart are quicker to repurpose an already well-packaged product.
That’s exactly what Brietbart.com did with Christopher Nolan’s second foray into Gotham, praising The Dark Knight for its clear anti-terrorism pro-Patriot Act stance. This became a major talking point throughout the news and blogosphere as the film’s popularity grew. And for folks as far right as Limbaugh, it must have felt like Christmas.
I mean, here we have a film,...

Cats on heads and Mega Man fighting Pikachu? Nope, they're not what you can find in New York's hottest club, as decided by Saturday Night Live's Stefon. But they are what you could find online this past week. Check it out: Whistleblower Edward Snowden Revealed That the Nsa Is Collecting Metadata from Verizon Some called him a hero. Others called him a traitor. Still others thought he was named Eric Snowden. But most just freaked out that their Snapchats could go public. Foursquare Time Machine Shows Your History of Check-ins Watch in awe as you see animation of the...
