Exclusive: Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age) is set to appear opposite Lauren Lapkus in Another Happy Day, a postpartum depression comedy marking the feature debut of writer-director Nora Fiffer, which wrapped production last summer in Chicago and will make its world premiere at the Vail Film Festival this Saturday, December 9th.
The film centers on Joanna (Lapkus), a “total nut” who is wearing new motherhood so awkwardly that she remarks candidly “I’m not really a mom, I just have a baby, you know?” This new mom is also an artist who isn’t making any art, and feels truly terrible at taking care of her newborn, as she stumbles through her days. She can’t get her old job back, her old friends have moved on without her, her husband thinks he’s a better mother than she is, she’s terribly sleep deprived, and her baby won’t look at her.

In 4 Ever, young musicians Andy (Christopher Vélez), Ian (Richard Camacho), Ciro (Zabdiel De Jesús), and Darío (Erick Brian Colón) meet by chance at a restaurant, where they get involved in an unexpected situation: A valuable guitar has just disappeared. To recover the guitar and return it to its owner, they must put together a band.
Their mission is challenging because each musician is different. Andy is described as a demanding perfectionist, Darío is sensitive and romantic, and Ciro is distant and aloof. But it’s their passion for music that bonds as they embark on a journey that involves the promise of success.

*full disclosure: a DVD screener of this film was provided by Mti Home Video.
Director/writer: Juan C. Bofill.
Cast: Jencarlos Canela, Al Galvez, Sonya Smith, Seth Gordon and Gabriel Porras.
You do not see many reviews of action thrillers on this site and after Hunted by Night, you will not read many more. This film was developed by stunt coordinator Juan C. Bofill to some very mild affect. A drug drop in the Florida Everglades goes wrong when three hunters intercept the cargo. The next hour and a half is just a cat and mouse interchange with gunfire. This review will serve as a warning: do not rent or buy this film!
Really, the story has already been summed up in the one sentence above. Simply, three hunters see a drug drop by plane and two vote for stealing the illicit merchandise. One is against it and of course this is the hero.
