Lifetime has revealed its ripped from the headlines slate of movies for the fall that it has dubbed the “Truly Unbelievable Movie Event.” The seven flicks are inspired or based on true events – all of which were filmed prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Included in the slate is the network’s 500th original flick called Murdaugh Murders: The Movie that stars Bill Pullman and will air Oct 14-15. Exclusive: Sony Pictures Television will shop the story of Jeffrey Epstein’s human-trafficking crimes as a limited series after optioning Conchita Sarnoff’s book TrafficKing. The studio has come on board the project after More/Medavoy Management had previously optioned the book, and Sarnoff’s life rights, for television in July.
Separately, publisher Post Hill Press has signed a deal with the author to publish her follow-up book The Cover Up, as well as an updated version of TrafficKing, following Epstein’s death last month in prison.
Sony TV is in the process of attaching a writer to the project before taking it out to the market. The move was made by Spt’s Svp Limited Series and Movies Tom Patricia.

Landscape Entertainment Television and Entertainment One Television are teaming to develop an event series project based on Washingtonian magazine editor Garrett Graff's upcoming nonfiction book "Raven Rock: The Inside Story Of The U.S. Government's Secret Plan To Save Itself - While the Rest Of Us Die".
The story explores the history of the U.S. government's secret efforts to ensure survival and 'Continuity of Government' if most of America or its leaders are killed in a nuclear attack on the United States.
Raven Rock itself a massive, classified, underground military installation in Pennsylvania that would serve as the central command post for the U.S. government in the wake of a nuclear attack.
Bob Cooper, Tom Patricia and Tyler Mitchell will executive produce the series.

Exclusive: On the heels of last year’s Pregnancy Pact, Lifetime has greenlighted another original movie based on a true story involving the issue of teen pregnancy. The Pregnancy Project stars Spy Kids alumna Alexa Vega and is based on the true story of 17-year-old Washington state high-school student Gaby Rodriguez who pretended to be pregnant in an effort to explore conventional stereotypes and the treatment of pregnant teens for a senior year school project. The Pregnancy Project was written by Teena Booth who also co-wrote The Pregnancy Pact and penned the network’s Natalee Holloway films and the upcoming Drew Peterson Story. Norman Buckley (Pretty Little Liars) will direct. Barbara Lieberman and Tom Patricia executive produce. Additionally, Buckley executive produces the ABC Family pilot Bunheads, written/executive produced by Amy Sherman-Palladino. He is repped by Paradigm, which also reps Booth, and Rain Management Group.
