Prince George may look a little chilly in his Amaia bloomers in this latest series of pictures, but in Britain, it's considered tradition for upper-class boys to wear shorts in their younger years. "Boys wear short trousers until they are 8," Editor-in-Chief of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward tells People. "It is very English." Shot in late November, the images were taken by Ed Lane Fox, Prince Harry's private secretary, and show the little royal on stone steps in a courtyard at London's Kensington Palace. Adds Seward: "It is considered very suburban for a little boy to be in long trousers...

Does that determined glint in Prince George's eye look familiar, royal watchers? In a new set of photos of the 16-month-old royal, George has the motivated and inquisitive expression of a boy en route to his next adventure - much like that of his father, Prince William, in a photo taken of him around the same age. Toddling in a blue jumpsuit, a roughly 18-month-old William (above, left) is off on a mission as well. When William was George's age, he too was heading into the Christmas season with his parents. The following September his mum Princess Diana would give birth to his brother,...

Happy holidays, Prince George fans! Prince William and Princess Kate are offering their season's greetings with three new photos of their rosy-cheeked son. The pictures offer a glimpse at three new faces of the little royal. There's the knowing smirk, as if he's about to set off on a new mission; there's the inquisitive sideways glance, perhaps at one of his parents standing behind the photographer; and there's the cheeky grin. The shots were taken in late November by Ed Lane Fox, Prince Harry's private secretary, and show George, who will be 17 months old on Dec. 22, seated on some...

Hugh Dillon is starting another television gig, but he'd be happy to revisit his last one.
The Canadian actor-musician plays a prison guard who matches wits with a death row inmate (Peter Sarsgaard) when AMC's "The Killing" returns for a third season Sunday, June 2. Dillon's trademark intensity also remains on view in his role as Sgt. Ed Lane in Ion repeats of the elite-police-unit drama "Flashpoint," which has finished its five-season run ... but he hopes that show hasn't seen its absolute end.
"It was one of those great events in life," Dillon tells Zap2it about his "Flashpoint" tenure. "Just yesterday, I was talking to Sergio Di Zio, who played Spike on the show. It's very much like family. Also, I learned technical things there that I could bring to 'The Killing,' things you aren't even aware you've learned that you just bring to the next project."

It's extreme crisis mode on the set of Canada's beloved police drama, "Flashpoint." On location at the Toronto International Marina, a frazzled man named Harold ("CSI: NY"'s A.J. Buckley) is standing on a ferry, screaming frantically. Turns out this shotgun-wielding guy has separated from his wife, is schizophrenic and off his meds. Worst of all, Harold has abducted a baby girl he mistakenly believes is his. In other words, Harold is a walking time bomb waiting to explode.
Also on the scene are Constables Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon), Sam Braddock (David Paetkau) and Julianna "Jules" Callaghan (Amy Jo Johnson) from the Strategic Response Unit (Sru), who are doing their best to diffuse the situation. Obviously, things aren't going well. Harold's confusion is turning to anger and rage as he yells, "Liar! Liar! I would never hurt her!" Before somebody actually does get hurt, Jules slowly inches toward the oblivious...

At this point, the undying love yours truly has for the Canadian cop drama Flashpoint is more than known. The dynamics of its three-dimensional characters, the quality of its episode to episode stories as well as its season/series long arcs, the high standard of acting employed by both its regular and episode specific cast, all these things make for one of the best television experiences anyone can have. This week’s episode was especially important as it’s Flashpoint‘s first go around in the U.S. since leaving the airwaves of CBS for Ion. The episode did not dissapoint. Written by series creators Mark Ellis & Stephanie Morgenstern and directed by pilot director David Frazee (arguably the best of all the directors the series has had to date), “Grounded” follows the story of a group of hijackers who take control and forcibly ground an aircraft in an attempt to free a prison inmate via hostage negotation...

CTV, a Canadian TV network, just revealed that its original procedural series Flashpoint debuted on Friday, July 8, with 1.4 million viewers in Canada.
Moreover, Flashpoint's season four premiere and also the follow-up of the third season's cliffhanger attracted 6.23 million viewers in the USA on CBS, a TV network.
In Canada, these numbers make Flashpoint the most watched show during the night of Friday, July 8. The show Flashpoint won the demographics of adults aged between 18 and 49 years old. The series follows a team of the tactical unit of Toronto's police department.
In the premiere, Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon), one of the members of that tactical team, survive five gun shots while on duty and is rushed to the hospital. He risks everything to be with his wife, who is about to deliver their baby. Meanwhile, Ed's team is chasing his shooter in the streets of Toronto.

Hugh Dillon knows, thanks to his "Flashpoint" character, just how bad a day someone can have.
In the Canadian-made, Friday-night CBS police drama's most recent episode, hostage-negotiation-team veteran Ed Lane was trying to get to a hospital for his child's birth while occupied with an on-the-job psychiatric evaluation -- which, he was dismayed to learn, had been ordered by his friend and superior Greg Parker (Enrico Colantoni).
Making matters much worse, Lane got stuck in heavy traffic en route to the hospital, then became the victim of a road-rage shooting. "Flashpoint" fans will learn the outcome of that cliffhanger soon: After two weeks of repeats, new episodes resume Friday, July 8 ... and there's a big hint in the fact that Dillon is still filming episodes for the current fourth season in Toronto.
"My initial reaction was, 'Holy f***!'," Dillon tells Zap2it about his "Flashpoint" alter ego getting shot, "but it made sense.

Every serial killer has his first day, and when the Sru gets called to the site of a motel room after an unintentional kidnapping, they soon learn that one of the hostages is not who they appear to be. At the same time, Ed learns that there is much more than his cop family at stake now, as he will soon have an unexpected surprise in his life. Jules also begins to take a much more offensive role when she finds a connection with the condemned subject. Major developments: The only major developments for the series is that Ed’s wife is pregnant with another child, and we learn that he has a brother in the police force. What worked: Going by the production numbers and the episode order in Canada, this is the premiere of the third season. A few months ago, Starz, an American premium cable network, surprisingly announced the renewal of Spartacus: Blood and Sand for a second season before the broadcast of the first season. Now, CTV, a Canadian private TV network, announced that it has renewed its hit action TV series Flashpoint for a fourth season. Besides, the show's third season hasn't premiered in Canada yet.
This Canadian TV series follows a team of the fictitious Strategic Response Unit (Sru),* a paramilitary unit of the Toronto Police Department. For each of its mission, the Sru aims to only use force as the last resort. The team is led by Sgt. Greg Parker (Enrico Colantoni), the head negotiator. Other members of the team include Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon), a sniper; Jules Callaghan (Amy Jo Johnson), another sniper; Sam Braddock (David Paetkau), a former soldier of the Joint Task Force 2; Mike Scarlatti (Sergio Di Zio), a...

It has been less than six months since I reviewed the Season 1 DVD release of Flashpoint here on CinemaSpy.com. Nevertheless, Phase 4 Films is already releasing episodes from Season 2 on the Canadian home entertainment market. If you purchased the first season set and are expecting more of the same, though, you might not be totally satisfied. Flashpoint Season 2 Volume 1, which comes out north of the border today, includes more of the intelligent script writing and slick action that characterize this Canadian procedural. Unlike the 13-episode Season 1 DVD set, however, this new release includes only nine episodes from Season 2. What's more, it doesn't even have the smattering of extra features that its predecessor included. And there's no Blu-ray version to boot.
Want to know more: Flashpoint revolves around the assignments of the fictional Police Strategic Response Unit (Sru). Each hour-long episode is centered on the latest assignment of this crack police team.

Attention to those who live in Canada and the USA. The second season of Flashpoint is coming soon on DVD. However, since this Canadian cop drama is distributed by a specific distributor in each country, expect the release in both countries to be different.
Synopsis:
This TV series created by Stephanie Morgenstern and Mark Ellis follows a team of the Strategic Response Unit (Sru), a tactical unit based on Toronto's Emergency Task Force (Etf). This team is led by Sgt. Gregory Parker (Enrico Colantoni), a negociator. He's accompanied by Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon), a sniper; Jules Callaghan (Amy Jo Johnson), the only woman in the team; Sam Braddock (David Paetkau), a former soldier of the Joint Task Force 2; Mike 'Spike' Scarlatti, a technology expert; Kevin Wordsworth (Michael Cram) and Lewis Young (Mark Taylor). In each episode, the Sru try to finish their intervention as peacefully as possible through negociations with suspects.

The Toronto-shot procedural Flashpoint has been an outstanding success in the annals of Canadian television. The series is a big hit with viewers in its native country and the 19 Gemini nominations that it received this year testify to the high regard Canada's industry professionals have for the show. Even more impressive, perhaps, has been the success Flashpoint has achieved in the United States. During its summer run on CBS, the first season w was the network's top original scripted series. Not since Due South has a Canadian show achieved that sort of success in a TV landscape where procedurals breed like proverbial rabbits.
Flashpoint is now in its third season on Canada's CTV network. To coincide with this, the first season has been released on DVD by Phase 4 Films in Canada and CBS Television in the Us (a Blu-ray edition is also available in Canada). The set contains all 13 episodes...

CTV's "Flashpoint" returned for its third season with a bang. Technically, with a small bang, a disarmament, and then a very big bang and they did it all really, really well.
Unabashedly set in Toronto, "Flashpoint" is the story of the Sru – Strategic Response Unit, the high-risk team that get called in for the high-octane situations. Led by Sgt. Greg Parker and his second in command Ed Lane, these men and women respond to the threats that make the news.
Season three starts with a phone call to the Sru. It is a recorded message stating that a bomb is on a construction site of a known non-green corporation. They manage to get the site evacuated and begin their investigation into which eco-terrorist group is responsible. (For international viewers, eco-terrorism in Canada hit a new high with the Encana pipeline bombings over the last year.) Their initial investigation leads them...
