Definitely the more sober-sided of two new films involving cops and cop-killers, “Crown Vic” juggles slice-of-life observation and thriller elements as a grizzled Lapd veteran shepherds a newbie through his first patrol shift. Writer-director Joel Souza’s “Crown Vic” doesn’t always balance those elements ideally, but it’s still a respectable if non-revelatory cruise through a familiar terrain of mean streets and men in blue.
Transformed by a darkened crew cut and ’stache, with a crankypants working-stiff voice, Thomas Jane is almost unrecognizable as longtime peace officer Ray Mandel. He’s in an irritable mood even before meeting trainee Nick Holland, who’s just transferred from an off-street post in Oakland to commence his maiden tour in a squad car three years after police-academy graduation. Nick is from a family of cops, and seems to feel he’s got a lot to prove. Yet he’s taken aback by Ray’s cynical,...

We’ve got the first full trailer for you to check out from the cop drama movie Crown Vic. The film stars Thomas Jane as a veteran cop who is tasked with a training rookie cop, played by Luke Kleintank (The Man in the High Castle). The men take to the streets of Los Angeles on the hunt for two cop killers over the course of one tense night that will prove to the rookie whether he is cut out for this job or not.
Here’s the rundown for the film:
Crown Vic takes us through one memorable night in the life of veteran patrol officer Ray Mandel and his trainee, ambitious rookie cop Nick Holland in the Lapd's Olympic Division. With two cop killers on the loose and hunting for more targets, Mandel and Holland must contend with a city about to boil over, as well as Jack VanZandt,...

Tagline: "Right and Wrong Isn't Always Black and White." Crown Vic has a new trailer, from Screen Media Films. The clip shows an almost unrecognizable Thomas Jane as a corrupt cop, working the violent streets of Los Angeles. Actor Luke Kleintank plays his fellow police officer, Nick Holland. The film follows both cops, on the streets, over the course of one night. Very much a crime thriller, Crown Vic had its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. Also starring David Krumholtz, Bridget Moynahan and Gregg Bello - this title will begin a limited theatrical across the United States, this November. Now, the film's latest trailer and theatrical poster can be found here. The film's title is a reference to the well known police car, the Ford Crown Victoria. This vehicle was discontinued several years ago (in 2011) by police departments, in favour of different models. So, the film...

Had Training Day been made today it would have to contend with the changing role of policing in the age of the body camera and the armchair lawyer with a tiny broadcast studio in his pocket. For old school cops like Officer Ray Mandel, who operate in a gray area, its part of the job he laments the most. He’s not interested in de-escalation, although he tows the party line up until the moment when he no longer can–playing by the book might just get you killed.
Crown Vic, written and directed by Joel Souza, is an intensely talky noir drama taking place over the course of one shift that rookie officer Nick Holland (Luke Kleintank) will never forget. With suspects from a bank robbery at large, he and training officer Mandel pack a war bag and set out to patrol the streets of Los Angeles. If this version of L.

Her appointment to the Brontë Society caused a storm. How will her new film – inspired by Wuthering Heights – be received? We meet the former supermodel at her Impossible HQ
Last December, when Lily Cole was appointed creative partner of the Brontë Society for 2018, it caused a brouhaha. Brontë expert Nick Holland resigned from the society, describing the decision as “a disgrace” and “rank farce”. Yes, Cole might have a double first in history of art from Cambridge University, but what concerned him was that she had chosen to make her living as a model. “The central question,” Holland huffed, “should be, ‘What would Emily Brontë think if she found that the role of chief ‘artist’ and organiser in her celebratory year was a supermodel?’ We all know the answer to that, and anyone who doesn’t isn’t fit to make the decision or have any role in the governance of the Brontë Society.

Around these parts werewolf movies get a lot of love and not in that whole nasty beastiality kind of way. Well, not entirely... I've personally seen MattFini get a little too eager around them. In any event, if you're a fan too, here's another one for your pack!
Below you'll find a still, trailer and two bits of artwork for the indie werewolf flick Unholy Hunger, which was written and directed by Nicholas Holland. Laura Kriss, Jt Taylor, Nate Burud, Nicholas Holland, Lillian Lamour, and Jordan Kantola star.
Synopsis
After the funeral of her boyfriend Gabe's parents, Kelly heads up north to the family cabin with him and a few of their friends as he prepares to sell it. Things quickly begin to spiral out of control though when their friends begin to disappear one by one with the rising of the full moon.
