South African actor Sharlto Copley, who gave such a superb performance in alien apartheid drama District 9, is in final talks to play 'Howling Mad' Murdock in Fox's big-screen remake of The A-Team.
Copley, 35, played bumbling bureaucrat Wikus van de Merwe (pictured right) in District 9 (see my review here), improvising many of his lines in what was his first feature film role.
Jessica Biel is also in negotiations for The A-Team and will play the former lover of Lieutenant Templeton 'Faceman' Peck (Bradley Cooper), says The Hollywood Reporter.
Dwight Schultz played Captain H.M. 'Howling Mad' Murdock in the original 80s TV series, and Dirk Benedict was Faceman.
Liam Neeson steps into the George Peppard role of Colonel John Hannibal Smith and Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson is Sergeant BA Baracus, the part previously made famous by Mr T.

The Hollywood Reporter is confirming earlier reports saying District 9 star Sharlto Copley is in final negotiations to join the cast of Joe Carnahan's The A-Team. They also bring word Jessica Biel is in the same process. Copley would portray "Howling Mad" Murdock while Biel would play the former love of Faceman (Bradley Cooper), an Army general who is now pursuing the team. The duo join Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson in the television-show-brought-to-big-screen feature centering on a special forces team convicted of a crime they didn't commit and on the run from government forces. Neeson will play Col. John Hannibal Smith and Jackson has signed on as B.A. Baracus, the role originated by Mr. T in the television original. THR says The A-Team begins production later this fall in Vancouver, although I had heard production was already underway. Either way, the film is set...

The battle for the role of B.A. Baracus in the A-Team Movie [1] has finally been won over by Ufc Fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who beat out big names like Ice Cube and Tyrese Gibosn. Jackson who never acted before will share the screen time along side Bradley Cooper as Lt. Tempelton 'Faceman' Peck and Liam Neesom as Col. John Hannibal Smith. The film will be directed by Joe Carnahan who was behind the very under-rated film Narc in 2002 and the story will revolve around four war veterans who break out of prison after being wrongfully convicted of armed robbery and thus forcing them to form the A-Team.
