A quintessential New York band finds the spotlight at the 20th Annual New York Jewish Film Festival. This band biodoc is a rumination on what it means to be an artist. Now in its 20th year, the New York Jewish Film Festival is in full swing over at Film Society of Lincoln Center (co-presented by the Jewish Museum). With narrative and documentary films from around the world that 'explore the Jewish experience,' the festival is encompassing in scope, offering something for everyone. In looking through the program, highlights include a narrative interpretation of Eichmann's capture (Eichmann's End: Love, Betrayal, Death); a documentary directed by musician Lou Reed about his 100-year-old activist cousin (Red Shirley); and the closing night feature The Matchmaker, a narrative set in 1968 Haifa.
