"The Neighbors" may be as far from reality as you can get, but that doesn't stop the comedy from having a crossover episode with "Shark Tank."
This Friday (Nov. 8) in "We Jumped the Shark (Tank)," Debbie Weaver (Jami Gertz), Larry Bird (Simon Templeman) and Jackie Joyner Kersee (Toks Olagundoye) will all face the scary reality waters of "Shark Tank" in an attempt to sell Debbie's brand-new invention.
It doesn't go well, as far as sales are concerned. In terms of comedy, however, this pitch is worth millions.
Want to know more? Check out this exclusive interview with Jami Gertz and executive producer Dan Fogelman to find out what happens when aliens meet sharks.**
**Not just an ABC crossover, but also a pitch for the next Syfy original movie.
Why did you want to do a crossover between "The Neighbors" and "Shark Tank"?
Dan Fogelman: Obviously, we work on the show,...

I will never understand why the world does not embrace "The Neighbors" as one of the funniest shows on television. The Season 2 premiere, "Family Conference," for example, has far more and far cleverer laughs than almost anything on television.
Also, you can watch it with very old or very young relatives and not be embarrassed. That's a big win.
Whatever the bizarre reasons are that not everyone loves "The Neighbors," at least we can say that those fools are missing out on greatness yet again in Season 2. "Family Conference" makes that very clear.
The basics
Amber and Reggie Jackson have managed to keep their "Romeo and Juliet"-esque romance a secret all summer. Alas, this comes crashing to the ground when their parents see them and scream a lot.
So of course the aliens need to have a family conference in order to vote on Amber and Reggie's relationship status.

"The Neighbors" will return for Season 2 this fall, and casting news makes it likely that everything will be as weird as ever on the sitcom. Talk-show host Jerry Springer and actress Lucy Davis (Dawn on the original British "The Office") will both appear as guest stars (according to EW.com).
Springer will show up in the season premiere of the show. As he so often does, the host will be a moderator of sorts -- a virtual sort, actually. There is no word yet on what the virtual Jerry will be moderating, but we can at least hope that it will involve a lot of yelling and possibly a chair toss.
Davis, meanwhile, won't show up until the third episode of the season. She will play a character named Helen, described as an elegant and proper British woman who inherits a fast-food restaurant. Helen comes into the "Neighbors" world when...

In the first of this week's episodes, Brad and Jane host a couples game night with Penny, Pete, Max and Scotty, which ends with Penny making a fateful decision.
Favorite Moments:
The off-brand candies - "Two Musketeers" "Reestie's Peanut Butter Klormps" "Skinnnles" "I think there's glass in my Senior Mints ... and My Sophomore Mints." "My bitchdar is pretty rock solid ... you are not fooling me, one-armed surfer girl." "It doesn't take a rocking scientist to see that.." The couples montage set to "You're The Best" from The Karate Kid
"Slow it down, Jackie Joyner Crazy." Least Favorite Moment: "I can't believe Wilson dumped me. Based on some really trumped up hygiene charges." So one episode, and then Wax Off? Damn! Hey Wait A Minute! Wax Off? And "You're The Best" from The Karate Kid? Coincidence? Yeah, probably.Second Least Favorite Moment: Nick Zano is gone!
Next page! Last night's second episode.

Terry O'Quinn as Gavin Doran in "666 Park Avenue" (ABC/Andrew Eccles)
ABC‘s slate of new shows for fall has a strange flavor to it, and it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The network has about as many new shows as returning ones (if you count all the midseasons), and a good percentage of the returning offerings are a year old or less, making this look a bit like a rebuilding year.
Not only is it a rebuilding year, but it’s the year of bringing back every actor and actress who ever had a decent run on a show before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a network’s new season slate that was so crammed with people returning from something else. If you can’t make it good, I suppose, make sure viewers recognize the faces.
It’s tricky to get a solid feel...

It is a cold winter day in the Sierra Mountains and only one soul, a man whom we will call Paul, dares brave the weather to have a bit of fun. After running out of gas during an afternoon snowmobile ride Paul finds himself stranded in the mountains. Fortunately Paul isn’t the sort of man to give up. No, he abandons his snowmobile and heads off into the desolate forest in search for some gasoline…
This mission proves to be futile, as forests tend not to provide gasoline to passing travelers, and Paul instead stumbles upon an old cabin way up along the mountainside. Being the brave man that he is, Paul approaches the cabin and knocks on the door. No one answers, but upon further investigation Paul finds a fire lit in the fireplace. Someone must live here!
