Eleanor and Park cast list

Chloe Grace Mortez would play Eleanor Douglas. Both Mortez and Eleanor are young teens with fairly similar appearances. Eleanor is a delicate teen with a difficult home life, and Mortez has played a variety roles, some of which have required her to be very reserved and soft-spoken, so she would be perfect for the role of Eleanor.

Ryan Potter would play Park Sheridan. Both Potter and Park have very similar ages and appearances. Park is definitely an outsider in the Omaha Nebraska community. Both Park's looks and his personality set him apart from the other people in the community, and because Potter shares many of the same physical and personality traits and has played similar roles, he will be able to play Park well.

Billy Campbell would play the role of Richie. Richie marries Eleanor's mother and is abusive. Campbell previously played the role of an abusive husband in the 2002 film Enough, so his past experience would allow him to play Richie's character well.

Blake Lively would play Eleanor's mother, Sabrina. Sabrina has been through a lot in her life. She was a teen mom, and has married two men who treated her horribly. Lively is young, so she would be able to pass as a teen mom. Also, Sabrina is described as very pretty, and Lively is also pretty.

Scott Eastwood would play Park's father, Jamie. Park's father is a "mans man". He is an Army veteran and has a hard time accepting Park's differences. Scott Eastwood has a the same tough look that the book uses to describe Jamie, so he would be an acceptable person to play Jamie's character.

Constance Wu would play Mindy, Park's mother. Not only does Wu look like Mindy, who is a small, Korean woman, she has also played other roles in which she is a mother to multiple teenage boys, which makes her the perfect person to play Park's mother.

Emma Roberts would play Tina. Tina is an obnoxious, stereotypical "popular girl" that bullies Eleanor. Roberts would be a good match for this role because she has played multiple roles where she is a rude, stuck-up bully.

Uriah Shelton would play Steve. Steve is an obnoxious, loud individual who, like his girlfriend Tina, often makes fun of Eleanor and Park. Shelton has had multiple roles playing teenage boys, and he would be a good fit for the role.

Dylan O'Brien would play the role of Josh, Park's younger brother. In the book, Josh is described as looking more white, while Park looks more Asian. Josh, unlike his brother, enjoys sports and has more in common with their dad than Park does. O'Brien looks very similar to how the book describes Josh, so he would be a perfect fit.

Sawyer Bell would play the minor role of Ben, Eleanor's younger brother. Bell resembles Ben's description in the novel.

Mckenna Grace would play the minor role of Maisie, Eleanor's younger sister. Grace resembles the description of Maisie in the novel, so she would be an appropriate person to play her.

Nicolas Bechtel would play Eleanor's younger brother who goes by mouse. Mouse is a minor character who is around the age of five, and since Bechtel fits this description, he would be a good fit for the role.

Cooper J. Friedman would play the minor role of Richie Jr., who is Eleanor's youngest brother. Richie Jr. is a baby, probably around the age of two, so Friedman is an appropriate person to play the role.

Stephen Tobolowsky would play the role of Mr. Stessman. Mr. Stessman is the clueless English teacher that recognizes Eleanor's talent for reading poetry. Tobolowsky would be perfect for this minor role because he has played many teachers in various flims.

Gracie Marie Bradley would play DeNice, a small girl that befriends Eleanor in gym class and help her deal with Tina's bullying. Bradley has a similar appearance to DeNice's character, who is described as looking "too small to be in the tenth grade," and would be an appropriate person to play DeNice.

Raven Goodwin would play the role of Beebi, another girl that Eleanor befriends, along with DeNice, in gym class. Goodwin's appearance is very similar to the appearance of Beebi, so she would be a good person to play this minor role.

Kenton Duty would play the role of Cal, Park's best friend. Cal is a normal guy who further emphasizes the fact that Park is different and that he doesn't even have that much in common with the person that he considers to be his best friend. Duty has a very normal appearance that doesn't stand out, so he would be the perfect person to play Cal.
